  • Patent number: 7425740
Abstract: A one transistor (1T-RAM) bit cell and method for manufacture are provided. A metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitor structure and method of manufacturing it in an integrated process that includes a finFET transistor for the 1T-RAM bit cell is provided. In some embodiments, the finFET transistor and MIM capacitor are formed in a memory region and an asymmetric processing method is disclosed, which allows planar MOSFET transistors to be formed in another region of a single device. In some embodiments, the 1T-RAM cell and additional transistors may be combined to form a macro cell, multiple macro cells may form an integrated circuit. The MIM capacitors may include nanoparticles or nanostructures to increase the effective capacitance. The finFET transistors may be formed over an insulator. The MIM capacitors may be formed in interlevel insulator layers above the substrate. The process provided to manufacture the structure may advantageously use conventional photomasks.

Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for generating three frame cDNA expression libraries for functional screening of proteins. The invention includes sets of 5? adapters for cloning cDNA molecules in which the sets include three adapters that can be used to clone a particular cDNA in all three reading frames. The libraries so generated have greater complexity of expressed open reading frames, and thus can improve the success of functional protein screens, such as two hybrid screens. The adapters also have recombination sites for efficient cloning and transfer between systems.

  • Publication number: 20040157334
Abstract: A method is described for determining from a measurement of fluorescence intensity the concentration of ethanol in water. This end is attained by obtaining data which establishes a relationship between an intensity of fluorescence in the spectral region 490-650 nm for a solution obtained by mixing a fluorescent agent in a solvent, and an intensity of fluorescence in the spectral region 490-650 nm measured for a calibration sample obtained by mixing the fluorescent agent's solution with a water ethanol solution having a known concentration of ethanol.

  • Patent number: 6066272
Abstract: Optical glasses and polymers are described that incorporate homogeneously dispersed fullerene molecules. The resultant materials may be used as optical filters, the cut-off frequency being easily adjustable by changing the fullerene content. To prepare glasses fullerene molecules are firstly functionalized by amination prior to being incorporated into a sol-gel process to prepare the glass. To prepare polymers a pre-existing polymer may be subject to fullerenation, or fullerene may be copolymerized with a selected monomer.
