  • Patent number: 6704805
Abstract: A system, method, and program product, in which a stateful EJB session bean is used as the front end to client calls. In this configuration, a queue is represented by a session bean instance. “Put” and “get” are called on the relevant session bean instances. Thus, for example, a client, instead of first finding a home for a given type of OMs then calling “put” on the home to send out messages, will find a session bean home, create a session bean instance corresponding to a queue, and call “put” on the bean instance to send messages. In this manner, the message queue can be managed using standard EJB techniques.

  • Publication number: 20030055573
Abstract: A spectroscopy instrument that uses spectra produced from random binary sequence modulated data. Statistical estimation techniques are used to achieve resolution enhancement, while properly accounting for the Poisson noise distribution and other artifacts introduced by a modulator or “chopper” or other system components. Indeed, a resolution similar to that of modem spectrometers can be achieved with a dramatic performance advantage over conventional, serial detection analyzers. Both static and dynamic behaviors are theoretically or measured experimentally accounted for in the model as determined. In one embodiment, the finite penetration of the field beyond the plane of the chopper leads to non-ideal chopper response, which is characterized in terms of an “energy corruption” effect and a lead or lag in the time at which the beam responds to the chopper potential.

  • Patent number: 6412425
Abstract: A foldable table for steering wheel with features and devices that include: a table angle control (9), a springing strip (31), a limit stopper (32) and reinforcing rib (34) on the support (3) to restrict the foldable table not to fall apart in fold-up position for easy carrying and storage; different ways of easily and rigidly mounting the foldable table on a steering wheel which can be removed just as easily as mounting; and a oblong slot on the surface of the foldable table for storage of pens, utensils, etc.

  • Publication number: 20020006403
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for suppressing, reducing or even reversing an immune response. More particularly it concerns anti-CD28 monoclonal antibody compositions and methods for preventing graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), transplant tissue rejection, and treating autoimmune diseases and the like. In particular embodiments, a method of inhibiting an immune response comprises administering an effective amount of a purified anti-CD28 antibody preparation to a subject, wherein the preparation modulates the CD28 receptor thereby inhibiting an immune response.

  • Patent number: 6192806
Abstract: A foldable and surface angle adjustable table device mountable upon a steering wheel, the device including an arch shape support (3) with clamp(s) on it, and a flat table surface (1) pivotally connected to each other. A pair of table angle controls (9) is at the bottom of the table at each side. At each side of the support, there is a corresponding angle-adjusting wheel (11) with a flange plate (12) to change the angle of the table angle control, which in turn changes the angle of the table surface. This device can be easily mounted on and removed from a steering wheel by clamp, and can be folded into a compact unit for carrying or storage.
