Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for converting and for matching color values between color spaces. The invention comprises a source device (16) for generating image signals; a color space converter (11), including a receiving and determining means (10), an interpolating means (14), and a regular primary look-up-table (LUT) (12), for converting the received image signals into second space color values; an outputting means (18) for supplying the second color values to a peripheral device (20).

Abstract: A process and related apparatus for producing at least two matched color displays of a digital image using two different display devices, comprising using an adaptor to convert the digital information representing the image to digital information such that the displayed image as a result of this converted digital information on one of the devices, appears the same as the image displayed on the other to an average observer when viewed under similar viewing conditions. The adaptor contains a transform LUT constructed using display device modeling to generate corresponding values to preselected input digital image values to map the input color values into the color space of the display device so that image matching is achieved.

Abstract: A method for reproducing color images comprising matching the color gamut of an image produced by a first device to the color gamut of a second device used for reproducing said image, wherein in the matching process, the color gamut of the first device is mapped onto the color gamut of the second device in the second device dependent color space by extrapolation, using data from both device independent and device dependent color spaces.
