    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for remapping and regrouping transmission resources in a wireless communication system. First, a set of new permutation algorithms based on Galois field operation is proposed. Then the proposed algorithms and the known Pruned Bit Reversal Ordering (PBRO) algorithm are applied to several of various resource mapping schemes, including slot or symbol level Orthogonal Cover (OC)/Cyclic Shift (CS) mapping, cell-specific slot-level and symbol-level CS hopping patterns, and subframe and slot level base sequence hopping patterns.

    Abstract: A mapping scheme between a plurality of control channel element sets and a plurality of acknowledgement channel resource sets is established. Each of the control channel element sets includes at least one control channel element, and each of the acknowledgement channel resource sets includes at least one acknowledgement channel resource. In accordance with a scheduling grant transmitted using a control channel element set selected from the plurality of control channel element sets, a data packet is transmitted via a second node to a first node. Then, an acknowledgement channel message is transmitted via the first node to the second node by using at least one acknowledgement channel resource selected from the acknowledgement channel resource set that correspond to the control channel element set used for transmitting the scheduling grant in accordance with the mapping scheme. The acknowledgement channel message may be one of a positive acknowledgement message and a negative acknowledgement message.

The apparatus includes a message generator, a first CRC encoder, and a second CRC encoder. The message generator generates a message. The first CRC encoder generates a first CRC for the message, and scrambles the first CRC by a first bit sequence of the message. The second CRC encoder generates a second CRC for the message, and scrambles the second CRC by a second bit sequence of the message.

The transmitter may also includes a CIF (carrier indication field) encoder configured to encode a carrier indication value in the control channel message by cyclically shifting the control channel message according to the carrier indication value configured to indicate an intended component carrier of the control channel message. Alternatively, the transmitter may also include a frame timing encoder configured to encode frame timing in the control channel message by cyclically shifting the control channel message according to the frame timing.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining the starting points of redundancy version transmissions in a circular rate matching operation. At least one block of information bits to be transmitted are encoded to generate a plurality of coded bits, which are then segmented into a plurality of sub-blocks of coded bits. Each of the sub-blocks of coded bits is interleaved by using a certain interleaver. The interleaved coded bits of the plurality of sub-blocks are collected and filled into a circular buffer having a plurality of redundancy versions in the circular buffer, with each redundancy version corresponding to a starting bit index in the circular buffer. For each transmission, a subset of bits are selected from the circular buffer by selecting a redundancy version from among the plurality of redundancy version. The selected subset of bits are modulated by using a certain modulation scheme, and are transmitted via at least one antenna.

    Abstract: When a subscriber station (SS) encounters interference caused an interfering base station (BS), the interference can be mitigated regardless of whether the interfering base station is a CSG-Closed BS or whether the SS is connected to a serving BS. If the SS is not connected to a serving BS and cannot access the interfering BS, the SS will signal the interfering BS directly to request the interfering BS to perform IM. If the SS is a legal user, and conditions to initiate IM are met, the interfering BS will perform IM until conditions to terminate IM are met. If the SS is connected to a serving BS, the serving BS will request the interfering BS to perform or terminate interference mitigation (IM) on behalf of the SS if certain conditions are satisfied.
