The method includes: determining whether a banknote to enter a receiving cavity is an abnormal banknote; where the abnormal banknote is a banknote that meets any of the following: the tilt angle of the banknote exceeds a first preset value, the length of the banknote exceeds a second preset value, the banknote and another banknote are stuck together, the banknote overlaps another banknote, or the spacing between the banknote and an adjacent banknote is smaller than a third preset value; in response to determining that the banknote to enter the receiving cavity is the abnormal banknote, controlling a support plate to move to increase the height of the banknote accumulation space; and controlling a banknote conveying mechanism to convey the abnormal banknote into the receiving cavity.

The banknote jam troubleshooting method includes, determining the troubleshooting path and the discharge device in case of banknote jam in the conveying passage; determining the multiple conveying sub-channels on the troubleshooting path; orderly discharging the banknotes in the multiple conveying sub-channels on the troubleshooting path from the sub-channel nearest to the discharge device to the sub-channel furthest; where the discharge device is any one among the input device, the output device, the temporary storage device, the recycling box or the recovering box, and the troubleshooting path is a path in the conveying passage for connecting the position of banknote jam to the discharge device.

Abstract: Disclosed are a multifunction magnetic reading device and a control method thereof as well as a printer. The multifunction magnetic reading device comprises a magnetic head component, a driving mechanism and a controller. The magnetic head component comprises a first magnetic head and an electromagnet. The first magnetic head comprises a first sub-head and a second sub-head. The electromagnet is configured to magnetize the MICR character. The driving mechanism is configured to drive the magnetic head component to reciprocate horizontally along a medium path in the medium path. According to the disclosure, a check and passbook processing device is also capable of reading a check inserted horizontally, and a user does not need to perform complex operations, which makes the multifunction magnetic reading device to be used conveniently.
