  • Patent number: 11682126
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for performing material capture to determine properties of an imaged surface. A plurality of images can be received depicting a material surface. The plurality of images can be calibrated to align corresponding pixels of the images and determine reflectance information for at least a portion of the aligned pixels. After calibration, a set of reference materials from a material library can be selected using the calibrated images. The set of reference materials can be used to determine a material model that accurately represents properties of the material surface.

  • Patent number: 10264229
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention facilitate lighting and material editing. More particularly, some embodiments are directed to leveraging flash photography to capture two images in quick succession, one with the flash activated and one without. In embodiments, a scene may be decomposed into components corresponding to diffidently colored lights and into diffuse and specular components. This enables the color and intensity of each light in the scene, as well as the amount of specularity, to be edited by a user to change the appearance of the scene.

  • Patent number: 10070111
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention facilitate automatically white-balancing images captured under mixed lighting conditions. More particularly, some embodiments are directed to leveraging flash photography to capture two images in quick succession, one with the flash activated and one without. By combining these two images, a per-pixel white balance kernel can be automatically determined and used to generate a white-balanced image without requiring any user input or user assumptions about the lighting in the scene. In embodiments, the white balance kernels for pixels that lie in the shadow or appear as specular spots are masked and can be interpolated from the white balance kernels at unmasked kernels. Motion effects between the flash and non-flash images may also be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5821834
Abstract: A surface wave device filter comprises two 2-pole waveguide coupled double mode resonators (WCRs) electrically connected together in cascade. To permit narrowing of the filter passband for improved out-of-band rejection, e.g. for use of the filter as an intermediate frequency channel filter in a wireless communications system, while maintaining good matching for low ripple in the passband, a shunt capacitance is connected in parallel with the static capacitances of the two WCRs. The shunt capacitance is constituted by interdigital fingers provided on the same piezoelectric substrate as one or both of the WCRs, perpendicularly to the WCR fingers to avoid surface wave interference, conveniently in space otherwise used by rails of the WCRs, optionally with oppositely phased fingers to cancel surface waves generated by these fingers. A capacitance can be similarly provided on the same substrate as any other type of surface wave device.

  • Patent number: 5790000
Abstract: A cascaded surface wave device filter comprises two 2-pole surface wave device filters connected in cascade. The 2-pole filters each provide a balun function between balanced and unbalanced signal connections, and have either their unbalanced or their balanced signal connections interconnected in the cascade to reduce electromagnetic feedthrough and improve spurious mode suppression. The 2-pole filters are conveniently longitudinally coupled double mode surface wave resonators which are described, or transversely coupled double mode surface wave resonators. Higher order filters can be provided by connecting further 2-pole filters in the cascade. The cascaded filter is particularly useful for filtering at radio and intermediate frequencies in cellular radio equipment.
