Abstract: An information handling system and method for managing event messages in a distributed computing environment employing a hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) architecture in which a central controller is configured to send heartbeats, indicative of a message handling capacity of the central controller, to a plurality of nodes within a management domain of the controller. Each node maintains an event messaging state of the central controller based on the heartbeats. When a node detects the occurrence of a reportable event, the node determines a reporting policy corresponding to the event messaging state of the central controller and takes an event message action in accordance with the reporting policy. The event message action may include sending the event message without delay or storing the event message for subsequent sending.

Abstract: An adaptive filter system and a method for controlling the adaptive filter system are described herein. The system can includes one or more filters to attenuate incoming light. The one or more filters can be moved by one or more actuators. The method can capture image data from an imaging device through the one or more filters. Information can be determined from the captured image data. The one or more filters can be moved to a position for capturing image data based on the information.

Abstract: Disclosed service discovery methods include responding, by a node, to detecting a new connection to a switch port by performing new connection operations that include determining, using link-layer discovery protocol (LLDP) advertisements, a switch port number and self-assigning an IP address in accordance with a predetermined addressing protocol in which the self-assigned IP address is indicative of the switch port number. The IP address assigned to the node may indicate the node's switch port number. Disclosed methods may further include initiating a unicast discovery procedure to determine, via unicast messages exchanged between nodes connected to the switch, a switch port roster that lists or otherwise indicates nodes connected to the switch as well as their corresponding port numbers and services available from each node. The switch port roster may be distributed to each of the connected nodes. The unicast discovery procedure may be periodically launched to refresh and re-distribute the roster.

Abstract: An information handling system may include a host information handling system that is configured to execute a host operating system (OS), a management controller configured to provide out-of-band management of the information handling system, and a cryptoprocessor. The information handling system may be configured to: generate, at the cryptoprocessor, a cryptographic key pair comprising a public key and a private key, wherein the private key is sealed based on platform measurements of the information handling system; transmit the public key from the cryptoprocessor to the management controller; access, by the host information handling system, the sealed private key; transmit an authorization from the host information handling system to the management controller, wherein the authorization is signed with the private key; and based on a verification of the authorization with the public key, grant access to the management controller from the host OS.

Abstract: A flexible display device includes a flexible display panel bendable along a bending axis. A support backplate is disposed on a side of the flexible display panel and located on an outer side of the flexible display panel when bending. The support backplate includes a support area and a plurality of extension areas defined on opposite sides of the bending axis and adjoining two sides of the support area. When the flexible display device is in an expanded state, a difference value between a length of the support backplate and a length of the flexible display panel in a direction perpendicular to the bending axis is greater than or equal to a first threshold. The flexible display device can reduce the risk of peeling of components in a bent state and can ensure a product lifespan.
