    Abstract: A method for managing a customer edge device includes: receiving, by a UNI set in a third-party operator network, an E-LMI packet sent by a VUNI set in a service provider network, where the VUNI is configured to manage a RUNI correlated with an EVC in the third-party operator network; converting, by the UNI, a unicast DMAC address in the E-LMI packet into a multicast DMAC address; and sending, by the UNI, the converted E-LMI packet to a CE device connected with the UNI. The E-LMI packet sent by the VUNI set in a service provider network may penetrate the third-party operator network, so that the management information of the service provider network can be transmitted to the CE device that is connected with the third-party operator network through the UNI.

    Abstract: A method for transmitting a Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) message of Ethernet includes: receiving a CFM message transmitted from a source node, the CFM message including identifier of a path and a connection maintenance target address; determining whether the connection maintenance target address matches address of a receiving node, and if yes, terminating the CFM message; otherwise forwarding the CFM message to a next hop based upon the path identifier of the path. Another method and a system for transmitting a CFM message of Ethernet, a node for transmitting a CFM message of Ethernet, and a node for receiving a CFM message of Ethernet are also disclosed. With the invention, a CFM message may be forwarded according to information of a Medium Access Control (MAC) address and a Virtual Local Area Network Identifier (VLAN ID) of a path identifier where a monitored service is located, and thus may be forwarded correctly in a Provider Backbone Bridge Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE) network.

    Abstract: In an Ethernet network divided into multiple domains, a method for Ethernet data frame data learning includes: receiving through a bridge port of a domain of the Ethernet network an Ethernet data frame containing a source Media Access Control (MAC) address; and generating a forwarding matching entry including a destination MAC address, the length of a forwarding mask and a bridge egress-port identifier; wherein the destination MAC address is acquired by matching the source MAC address with the length of the forwarding mask. In a method for Ethernet data frame forwarding, a bridge forwards the Ethernet data frame according to a MAC forwarding matching table including a destination MAC address, the length of a forwarding mask and a bridge egress-port identifier. An Ethernet network and a bridge are also provided. The number of entries included in the MAC forwarding matching table o is reduced effectively.

    Abstract: A method and a device of network protection are disclosed to protect transmission of the PBT service when a link or node fails in the PBT network. The method comprises: switching a Provider Backbone Transport (PBT) service impacted by a fault to a protection Provider Backbone Bridge (PBB) service according to a preconfigured corresponding relationship between the PBT service and the protection PBB service when a working link or a working node fails in a ring network; and forwarding a service frame of the protection PBB service in a PBB service forwarding mode. A network device for implementing such a method is also disclosed. The technical solution under the present disclosure enables simultaneous transmission of both the PBT service and the PBB service in the same network, requires use of only one protection technology, and draws upon the traditional Ethernet protection technology to protect the PBT service.
