  • Publication number: 20160190690
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an antenna ground plane; a conductive side element, a first antenna resonating element; a second antenna resonating element; and a slot-based antenna element formed from slot structures between the conductive side element and the conductive housing element. At least two RF switches are loaded with lump loads, located across the slot-based antenna element and dividing the slot-based antenna element to sections. A first antenna resonating element capacitively coupled to the slot-based antenna element, and forming a first antenna operating at a first frequency; the second antenna resonating element capacitively coupled to the slot-based antenna element, and forming a second antenna operating at a second frequency; and wherein the first and the second frequency are configured to be tuned at different frequencies based on a lump load switched by the first and the second RF switches.

  • Publication number: 20160111778
Abstract: A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system includes a first elongated antenna connected to a first feed point, comprising a radiator configured to resonate in at least one frequency band; a second elongated antenna connected to a second feed point, comprising a radiator configured to resonate in at least one frequency band; a support element, whereto the first and the second elongated antenna being attached parallel with a first distance. The antenna system further includes an elongated conductive element connected to a ground and attached to the support element, the elongated conductive element configured to reduce coupling between the first and the second radiator.

  • Patent number: 9300270
Abstract: An RF device includes a substrate and a series circuit of a tunable RF component and a DC blocking capacitor. The series circuit is arranged on the substrate and couples an RF signal terminal to a fixed voltage terminal that is electrically isolated from the RF signal terminal. The tunable RF component is coupled to the RF signal terminal, the DC blocking capacitor is coupled to the fixed voltage terminal and a driver terminal is coupled to the tunable RF component.

  • Patent number: 8638266
Abstract: An antenna arrangement comprises a ground plane (14) and a planar antenna element (30) mounted spaced from and parallel to the ground plane. An open-ended slot (16) is provided in the ground plane (14), the slot being coextensive with an edge portion of the ground plane and having a first end (18) opening into the edge portion of the ground plane and a second closed end (20). An antenna feed (22) is coupled to the slot at a location intermediate the first and second ends. The planar antenna element is connected by an electrically conductive wall (28) to the edge portion of the ground plane, the wall (28) being coextensive with the slot (16). The combination of the slot shape, slot location and the wall serves to increase the bandwidth of the antenna arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20090273529
Abstract: An antenna arrangement having a ground plane (30, 212) a PIFA antenna (15, 240) arranged parallel to the ground plane, and a quarter wave slot antenna (220), arranged to radiate or receive with orthogonal polarisations, the ground plane being rectangular and having higher and lower E field regions (25), caused by use of either of the antennas. The feed (205, 218) of at least one of the antennas is located in the lower E field region caused by the other of the antennas, to provide improved isolation for a compact size. This can be useful for diversity or dual band use, for mobile handset devices.
