The method includes: recording characteristic information of each available advertisement position in a game; determining whether a client has accessed an advertisement position, and if the client has accessed an advertisement position, reading characteristic information of the accessed advertisement position; and selecting advertisement content matching the accessed advertisement position according to the read characteristic information, and pushing the advertisement content to the accessed advertisement position to be displayed.
