  • Publication number: 20070299850
Abstract: According to principles of the present invention, a digital content (photo or video clip) file can have an associated audio and/or text file that shares the same prefix file name as the content file but with a different suffix file name. These associated files record either voice or text memos of the selected digital content. • Publication number: 20020189429
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a digital portable music player that includes a non volatile memory for storing and recording music files. Where at least one of the music files includes at least an audio portion and a data portion. The player includes both a display screen for displaying the data portion and a headphone jack for receiving headphones such that a user may hear the audio portion. The player yet further includes a microphone jack for receiving an external microphone. A microprocessor is included that has instructions for retrieving and decoding said one music file from the non volatile memory and instructions for playing the music file. Wherein the instructions for playing the music file include instructions for displaying the data portion over the display screen simultaneously with emitting the audio portion over headphones. The microprocessor has further instructions for recording a user's voice, coming through the external microphone, in real time with the playing of the music file.

  • Publication number: 20020193895
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention a user interface for synchronizing multimedia files into an audio bit stream is provided. The interface includes the ability to retrieve an audio file having at least a voice recording and retrieve multimedia files. When the multimedia file includes lyrical data that corresponds to the voice recording on the audio file, the interface provides the ability to define syllable tags within the lyrical data. The interface may then synchronize the at least one multimedia file with the audio file, and when the multimedia file includes lyrical data, synchronize the lyrical data with the voice recording in accordance with the syllables tags. Such that the synchronizing generates an intermediate file that includes for each multimedia file at least one corresponding time stamp to indicate the position and time for where the multimedia file is to be synchronized within the audio file.

  • Patent number: 6442517
Abstract: A method of encoding an audio sequence with synchronized data is provided. An audio sample and a data sample is provided. The audio sample is converted into an audio signal. The data sample is converted into a data signal. The data signal includes a plurality of data segments. Finally, the audio signal is encoded with the data signal to form an audio sequence. The audio sequence includes a plurality of frames. Each frame includes at least one field for receiving at least one data segment of the data signal.
