Patent number: 11153526Abstract: Techniques for detecting epileptic triggers in video content by storing a first sequence of frames of a video stream in a first buffer. The technique can further comprise generating a second sequence of subframes and storing the second sequence of subframes in a second buffer. The technique can further comprise generating average intensity values for the second sequence of subframes in the second buffer and calculating intensity changes between consecutive subframes in the second sequence of subframes based on the average intensity values. The technique can further comprise determining that a number of intensity changes between consecutive subframes in the second sequence of subframes exceeds an oscillation threshold and tagging the frames in the first buffer corresponding to the subframes in the second buffer as hazardous.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2020Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Istvan Rechner, Zoltan Ponekker, Patrik Egyed

Patent number: 11005903Abstract: A method and system for streaming multimedia data over a communication network. Each segment of multiple segments is associated with at least two data blocks of multiple data blocks. The segments are sequenced according to a unique stream index for one stream associated with multimedia content. The unique stream index for the one stream is assigned a main index that describes multiple streams for the multimedia content. The multiple streams include the one stream. A request for content of the multimedia content is received. The request specifies a data chunk, of the multiple data chunks, that denotes the requested content. The main index is analyzed with respect to the specified data chunk to determine the stream and segments and/or data blocks therein that encompass the requested content. The determined stream and segments and/or data blocks therein are transmitted over the communication network in response to the request.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2019Date of Patent: May 11, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Zoltán Ponekker, Ákos Gyimesi, Balázs Vida, József Tamás Ecsédi, Dávid Simon, Sándor Lovász

Patent number: 10356146Abstract: A method and device for streaming multimedia data over a communication network. Data associated with multimedia content is received over the communication network. Portions of the data are processed into multiple data blocks. The multiple data blocks are associated with multiple segments by associating each segment with at least two data blocks of the multiple data blocks. The segments of the multiple segments are sequenced according to a stream index. The stream index is assigned to a main index that describes a set of streams for the multimedia content.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2016Date of Patent: July 16, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Zoltán Ponekker, Ákos Gyimesi, Balázs Vida, József Tamás Ecsédi, Dávid Simon, Sándor Lovász

Patent number: 9088804Abstract: An on-demand multimedia stream processing system receives multimedia streams from broadcasters and processes the streams for viewing on a wide range of client devices. To decrease the use of computing resources, processing jobs are started and stopped based on user demand. When a multimedia stream is received from a broadcaster, the processing system does not start processing the multimedia broadcast stream until a request for a processed stream is received. The processing system automatically terminates processing jobs when the audience of a processed stream drops to zero or some other stop condition is met.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2012Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: Ustream, Inc.Inventors: Gyula Feher, Akos Gyimesi, Zoltan Ponekker, Daniel Palffy, Gergely Hodicska, Zoltan Nemeth
