  • Patent number: 7946338
Abstract: The invention relates to an air cooled condenser system that contains a steam-air heat exchanger (3) consisting of tubes (2) finned on the outside for the partial direct condensing of steam (1) with ambient air (4). This heat exchanger (3) receives the steam (1) from an upper distribution chamber (24) and ends in a lower chamber (25) which collects the condensate (8) and the steam (27) that has not yet condensed. The steam (22) not yet condensed in the steam-air heat exchanger (3) is condensed, in the steam-air section of the air cooled condenser, in a space operating as a direct contact condenser (9) by spraying water from the water-air cooling section (7) of the air cooled condenser, where the non-condensing gases are removed as well. The water (13) heated up in the direct contact condenser (9) is re-cooled in a water-air heat exchanger (7).

  • Patent number: 5346501
Abstract: A mechanism and applier therefor which is capable of inverted anastomosis of two lumens by an absorbable fastener. The fastener is made from two washer-like plate assemblies and a pair of introducers. Each such plate assembly has slots to receive latching prongs protruding from the other plate, and pins to impale tissue. Fastening is done through an applier that causes the pins to pierce the tissue, and causes a knife blade to cut through excess tissue. Fastening is done by attaching fastener halves. Insertion and removal of the fastener and applier optimally is done in an endoscopic procedure through a trocar or through the surgical incision in an open procedure. The system can be used such that the plates can be placed to properly set gaps between and anastomose tissue. The introducer portion will soften intraluminally and be expelled, in about 24 hours. The coupler portion will remain in place for 2-3 weeks, typically, and then fragment and be expelled with the feces.

  • Patent number: 4482550
Abstract: Fodder and fodder additives promoting the weight increase of domestic animals, and a process for the use thereof. The fodder and fodder additives of the invention contain stable complexes of titanium formed with ascorbic acid, o-dihydroxybenzene, dihydroxy naphthalene disulfonic acids, hydroxy carboxylic acids or polyhydroxy carboxylic acids or the salts thereof, preferably in a quantity of 0.001-6.00 percent by weight of the whole. Optionally, compounds exerting a preserving effect, preferably in a quantity of 0.01-2.0 percent by weight of the titanium complex, can be added, besides the usual components and additives of the fodder. The fodder and fodder additives of the invention promote the weight increase of domestic animals and reduce the specific fodder consumption.

  • Patent number: 4037413
Abstract: A heat exchanger in a close cycle gas turbine power plant has, on its heat abduction side, a system of cooling units connected to it by means of which the efficiency of the plant is considerably increased. Such units consist of evaporators and vapor turbines with condensers and air coolers, the vapor turbines being driven by vapors generated in the evaporators. The latter, in turn, are heated by the heat abduction side of the heat exchanger in the main cycle. The exhaust vapors are precipitated in condensers and cooled down by air coolers and recoolers and partly circulated back to the heat abduction side of the heat exchanger in the main cycle.
