  • Patent number: 9106626
Abstract: Arrangements for forwarding content from a message storage server to a content sharing server of a Converged IP Messaging (CPM) system are described. An HTTP PUT request is issued by a user/client to the content sharing server, with the request identifying the location of the content on the message storage server. In response to the HTTP PUT request, the content sharing server issues a request, such as an IMAP download request, to the message storage server (either directly or via an intermediary). In response, the message storage server provides the content, without that content being sent to the user device.

  • Publication number: 20100121709
Abstract: Direct and indirect invitation-based viral advertising is provided, where an advertisement is delivered to a first user. The first user may send an invitation message to a second user inviting him/her to view/interact with the advertisement. The invitation message can be sent directly from the first user's device or indirectly sent from an advertising server. Upon acceptance by the second user of the invitation message regarding the advertisement, an opt-in form an optional opt-in form, or no opt-in form is presented to the second user. The opt-in form can be used by the second user to register with an advertising network that created, is associated with, and/or originally delivered the advertisement to the first user. Upon receipt of opt-in information associated with the second user for populating/answering the opt-in form, the opt-in form is processed for the second user. Then, the advertisement is delivered to the second user.

  • Publication number: 20080294729
Abstract: An email object is provided that fulfills requirements defined in the OMA MEM Enabler, where email messages are represented as extensible markup language documents. Filters created using XPath allow an email client to indicate what email messages are to be advertised as new and later downloaded. Table of content information can also be provided without the need for downloading an entire email object first, as well as additional information about each body part. Therefore, referencing body parts for downloading email body parts step-by-step or for use in a reply/forward without download use case, as well as allowing for the downloading of alternative content (e.g., content-adaptation) is provided. Data synchronization protocols are used to allow the email client to keep an equivalence relationship between main email storage on the email server and local mail storage on the email client side when transferring email messages between the email client and email server.

  • Patent number: 7454781
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for a user to obtain services from an Instant Message and Presence Service (IMPS) server. The user is identified by a user identification (UserID). An application session is established, through an application client of the user, on the IMPS server. In order to establish the session, an identification code is established in order to be used for the session, and the session is established only if the identification code is not being used for an existing session established by the same user on the same server.

  • Publication number: 20070100968
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for updating a wireless device connected to a cellular network utilizing Instant Messaging and Presence Service protocol (IMPS) defined by open Mobile Alliance. In the method a server connected to the cellular network transmits a configuration message to the wireless device including a CIDPrefix, which includes a provider specific identity string. The wireless device which has received the configuration message adds to the provider-specific identity string separation marks and a supplier-specific internal identity string. After that the wireless device uses this concatenated identity string as a ClientID with the server which sent the configuration message. The invention relates also to a configuration message, wireless device, server and device management system utilizing the method. The invention relates also to computer programs implementing the method in a server and a wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20060168642
Abstract: A presence service is employed to keep track of the kinds of content types that are supported by various subscribing client devices as well as any size limitations for a given content type supported by a given device so that another client device wishing to send a message to a particular other client can consult the presence service before sending the message and determine whether the intended recipient is capable of handling the message. If not, the message is not sent and unnecessary fees for using the messaging service are avoided.
