  • Patent number: 8439049
Abstract: A dental floss is formed as a strand, including threads braided with each other in a multi-looped manner so that forming knobs connecting adjacent quasi-flat sections that, while being stretched in a straight line, are sequentially disposed and twisted relatively to each other, whose cross-sections can be approximated to a rectangle-like figure having a width and a height greater than the width. The heights of two adjacent quasi-flat sections are disposed at a predetermined angle to each other. Due to particular braiding, the quasi-flat cross-sections and the knob's cross-section encompass different numbers of thread pieces, forming a multi-planar surface with bulges, thereby providing for a unique adhesive property increasing the floss cleaning power, grabbing and removing plaque particles from the tooth surface more efficiently than the conventional ones.

  • Publication number: 20120132555
Abstract: A kit for lubricating dental floss comprises a flat base coupled to a panel defining a plurality of channels each containing a floss piece formed as an elongated loop having a bend and two free ends, lubrication zones, and compartments filled with lubricant, essentially formed of a flexible membrane, facing the respective lubrication zones. Each compartment includes dispenser orifices located near the bends, such that the vicinities of bends are lubricated upon a user's depressing on the membrane. An optional kit comprises a panel including cells each having dry and lubricant cavities, floss pieces each having a bend and two free ends, whereat the floss piece's middle portion is located in the lubricant cavity, the free ends are located in the dry cavity, and a flat cover coupled to the panel sealingly covering the cells. Preferred types of the floss and lubricant for the kits are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100300481
Abstract: A dental floss is disclosed, consisting of sections twisted relatively to each other along a longitudinal direction at predetermined angles providing a permanently changeable spatial orientation of the sections. The sections each consists of strands braided with each other in a multi-stitch manner so that the sections collectively form a volumetric knit structure having a longitudinal axis. The structure, being horizontally disposed, forms a projection on any axial plane, extended through the longitudinal axis, which projection represents a planar pattern having an upper contour and a lower contour with a periodically changing width therebetween, thereby forming concave and convex portions. The disclosed floss provides for a unique adhesive property increasing the floss cleaning power, grabbing and removing plaque particles from the tooth surface more efficiently than the conventional ones.

  • Publication number: 20090269288
Abstract: A proposed toothpaste is disclosed providing a synergistic composition for toothpaste to prevent decay, to prevent and control dental plague and gingivitis, and to suppress growth of wide spectrum of micro organisms that cause periodontal disease, while not exhibiting any harmful particular side effect. It allows absorbing and removing odor components out of the oral cavity for a long period of time, removing stain from the teeth, and polishing them. The toothpaste comprises: Sodium Monofluorophosphate, Glycerin, Water, Calcium Carbonate, Xylitol-70%, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, Sodium Saccharin, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Methylparaben, Xanthan Gum (E-415), Cellulose Gum (E-466), Hydrated Silica, Titanium Dioxide (E-171), Peppermint Oil, Commiphora Myrrh Extract, Menthol, Charcoal, Grape Seed Oil, and Extract of Brazilian Acai Berry. Particular amounts of weight units for preferred embodiments are provided, as well as a sample method of preparation the toothpaste.
