Abstract: The present invention relates to novel compounds of the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and stand for alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms, alkenyl having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, phenyl or lower alkoxy-alkyl group,R.sub.3 stands for alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or alkenyl having 2 to 6 carbont atoms,R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are the same or different and represent hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkenyl having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, phenyl, benzyl, phenyl substituted by one or more alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and/or by one or more halogen atoms, lower alkoxy-alkyl, a group of the formula --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --R.sub.6, wherein n is an integer between 0 to 3 and R.sub.

Abstract: A fungicidal composition comprising as active ingredient a 2-(O-[substituted]alkyl)-2-thio-1,3,2-oxathiophospholane of the Formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1,R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently from each other stand for hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkynyl andX represents halogen, hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl or mercapto. The process for the preparation of the compounds of the Formula I involves phosphorous pentasulfide, alcohols and pyridine. The compositions are wide spectrum fungicides, particularly useful in combating Sclerotinia sp., Penicillium sp., Alternaria sp., Fusarium sp., Phytophthora infestans and powdery mildew.

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions useful for prolonging the action and increasing the selectivity of herbicide compositions containing .alpha.-chloroacetamide derivatives as active ingredient as well as to highly selective herbicide compositions containing .alpha.-chloroacetamide derivatives as active ingredients and optionally an antidote wherein an animal derivative of the general formula (III) is used for achieving the prolonged action and increased selectivity. Abstract: The invention relates to a synergistic fungicidal composition containing more active ingredients comprising 2,3-dihydroxy-6-methyl-5-phenylcarbamoyl-1,4-oxathiine or 2.3-dihydro-6-methyl-5-phenylcarbamoyl-1,4-oxathiine-4,4-dioxide and the zinc and manganese complexes of (8-oxyquinolinate)-(dimethyl dithiocarbamate) as active ingredients, optionally solid and/or liquid carriers and other excipients. The compositions is of value especially in the treatment of infections caused by ustilaginales and yellow rust on cereals.

Abstract: The invention relates to new compositions for increasing the cold resistance of cultivated plants. These compositions contain as active ingredient at least one compound of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of 2 to 5 and R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each stand for hydrogen or C.sub.1-5 alkyl, or an acid addition salt thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 70% by weight, together with a conventional diluent and/or additive.The plants treated with the compositions according to the invention are more resistant to cold and frost.

Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for combatting weeds in cereals, which contains a (1:2) to (1:5) mixture of 2-tert.-butylamino-4-ethylamino-6-methylthio-1,3,5-triazine and S-ethyl-N,N-hexamethylene-thiocarbamate in an amount of 10 to 80%, along with a conventional carrier, diluent and/or dispersing agent.The invention relates further to a pre-emergent method of combatting weeds, primarily monocotyledons, in cereals, particularly in winter cereals. According to this method a total amount of 2.0 to 4.5 kg/ha of a (1:2) to (1:5) mixture of 2-tert.-butylamino-4-ethylamino-6-methylthio-1,3,5-triazine and S-ethyl-N,N-hexamethylene-thiocarbamate is applied onto the area to be treated.
