  • Patent number: 10177962
Abstract: Example network management systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a method identifies at least one network resource to be managed and identifies at least one domain to be managed. The method further identifies at least one service provider to be managed. A fusion object is created that defines the network resource, the domain, and the service provider to be managed.

  • Patent number: 9602357
Abstract: Example network visualization systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a method displays a network environment as a network graph using a first zoom level. The method receives a request to provide a second zoom level in a particular portion of the network environment. Network components are identified to display at the second zoom level in the particular portion of the network environment. The method further determines which network connections to display at the second zoom level in the particular portion of the network environment and generates a revised network graph containing the identified network components and the determined network connections.

  • Publication number: 20150113452
Abstract: A graphical user interface system for a computer system is disclosed. Regions of interest and locations thereof are defined. Icons are associated with the regions and the sizing and arrangement thereof is determined according to rules, such as user-specified rules. A representation of the icons of a region may be enhanced or altered in response to user interaction. An altered representation may animate icons of a region, enlarge an icon, augment information displayed on an icon, or perform other functions.

  • Patent number: 6801530
Abstract: An Internet Protocol network having service differentiation depending on whether or not a flow in the network is a real-time flow. An aggregated flow within the Internet Protocol network passes through a flow classifier before entering a node. The flow classifier distinguishes the aggregated flow into set of flows, each flow corresponding to a unidirectional packet stream from a single session. The flow classifier then executes at least one of a plurality of checks including: checking payload size; checking for static behavior in header fields that are predictably constant if the flow is a real-time flow; and checking for incremental behavior of header fields, which predictably increment if the flow is a real-time flow. Based on the checks, the flow classifier decides whether the flow is a real-time flow or a non-real-time flow.

  • Patent number: 6700888
Abstract: In packet communication paths that include header compression, header fields of packets to be communicated are altered. The alteration of the header fields does not disturb their functionality, and is transparent to the header compression scheme of the packet communication path. The altered header fields are provided for compression by the header compression scheme, resulting in improved performance of the header compression scheme. Performance improvements can also be achieved in packet communication paths that do not use header compression, by violating the integrity of header fields in packets to be transmitted over the packet communication path.

  • Patent number: 6668175
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing radio access bearer services for different applications in a network having a core network and a radio access network through radio access bearers between the networks are presented. One or more session traffic flows being sent by an application are identified, the identified session is characterized in the form of parameters needed for the determination of the one or more radio access bearers. The characterized parameters are converted into radio access bearer attributes. One or more radio access bearers defined by the attributes are requested and established. Each session is mapped onto a correct radio access bearer established upon receiving the request. The one or more radio access bearers are released when no longer needed.
