  • Publication number: 20240142116
Abstract: Water-source heat pump systems include a solar heater to supplement heating operations and a radiative cooler such as one or more radiative cooling panels to allow the system to reject heat. The system can be controlled based on a target temperature, a current temperature, and temperatures at one or both of the solar heater and/or the radiative cooler, selecting a mechanical cooling mode, a hybrid cooling mode, a free cooling mode, a hybrid heating mode, or a free heating mode based on the temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20230415879
Abstract: A transport refrigeration system (TRS) for an enclosed space of a transport unit that includes a ventilation pathway to direct air to flow from the enclosed space. The TRS includes a refrigerant circuit with an evaporator configured to cool the air, and a CO2 scrubber. The CO2 scrubber includes a metal organic framework (MOF) configured to adsorb CO2 from the air in an adsorption mode and is regenerated with ambient air in a regeneration mode. A transport unit includes an enclosed space for storing produce, a ventilation pathway, and a TRS. A method of conditioning an enclosed space of a transport unit includes operating a TRS in a first mode that cools air from the enclosed space and adsorbs, with a MOF in a CO2 scrubber, CO2 from the air, and operating the TRS in a second mode that regenerates the MOF with ambient air.

  • Patent number: 9654741
Abstract: A system and a method for image acquisition suitable for use in a turbine engine are disclosed. Light received from a field of view in an object plane is projected onto an image plane through an optical modulation device and is transferred through an image conduit to a sensor array. The sensor array generates a set of sampled image signals in a sensing basis based on light received from the image conduit. Finally, the sampled image signals are transformed from the sensing basis to a representation basis and a set of estimated image signals are generated therefrom. The estimated image signals are used for reconstructing an image and/or a motion-video of a region of interest within a turbine engine.
