  • Patent number: 10697423
Abstract: A method to dispose at least one air guiding tube between a penstock and a water turbine installed on a dam to form negative pressure at an outlet of the air guiding device by the water kinetic energy produced from high speed of water flow to take in external air for pressurizing, so as to produce a plurality of pressured air bubbles mixed into the water. The water with pressured air bubbles would be decompressed when flowing to an exit of the penstock and has their volumes increased, so as to enhance the water kinetic energy for driving the water turbine more efficiently; meanwhile the method can prevent from production of cavities and further avoid damages of the components of the water turbine from cavitation.

  • Patent number: 8800459
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rudder resistance reducing method which utilizes a negative pressure to guide in gas for generating air bubbles, reducing the resistance of the rubber of a boat. The present invention uses an air bubble generator in front of the rudder for generating bubbles during rotation of the propeller of the boat to cause a high-speed flow of water without changing the original design of the boat, enabling the air bubbles to isolate contact between the high-speed flow of water and the rudder, thereby reducing rudder resistance and saving energy consumption.

  • Publication number: 20130040513
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydraulic propeller enhancement method for enhancing the propelling force of a hydraulic propeller. The present invention uses a gas release outlet in the propeller at the area where the high-speed axial flow of water passes for guiding in a gas by means of a negative pressure subject to Bernoulli's principle. Thus, subject to Bernoulli's principle, gas compressible characteristic and Boyle's law and the arrangement of the contracted end piece of the nozzle to work as an air compressor for compressing air bubbles, the invention uses one single gas guide device and a negative pressure suction force to guide in air bubbles to enhance the propelling force of the hydraulic propeller.

  • Publication number: 20120103430
Abstract: A method of reducing the object-traveling resistance includes the steps of forming a plurality of small cavities on the whole or at least a portion of an object skin by a non-destructive measure, and producing a plurality of small vortexes at the object skin to form a thin turbulent boundary layer when a fluid passes through the plurality of small cavities, for achieving an advantageous interference to a turbulence of the fluid at the object skin, such that a portion of fluid is not in contact with the object skin, and a viscous drag acting on the object skin is reduced to extend a wake and reduce a drag force of the wake. The aforementioned mechanism can reduce the object-traveling resistance to provide a faster traveling speed and a big moving power of the object.

  • Publication number: 20120107130
Abstract: A method of enhancing the output efficiency of a propeller and reducing the noise thereof wherein a plurality of small cavities are formed on the whole or at least a portion of a blade skin of the propeller. When the propeller is rotated and a fluid passes through the small cavities, a plurality of small vortexes are created at the blade skin to form a thin turbulent boundary layer that allows an advantageous interference acting on a turbulence of the fluid at the blade skin. In this way, a portion of fluid is not in contact with the blade skin, and a viscous drag acting on the blade skin is reduced to extend a wake and reduce a drag force of the wake. The aforementioned mechanism can enhance the output efficiency of a propeller and reduce the noise thereof.

  • Patent number: 7874258
Abstract: A method of reducing frictional resistance between a ship hull and water by releasing gases through a plurality of gas outlets under a water level in a fore portion of the hull. The released gases are selected from a group of air, engine exhaust gas and water vapor. A heating device supplied with electric power is provided at a periphery of each gas outlet for producing the water vapor. The position of releasing the gases is selected according to parameters including the shape of the hull, the velocity, the draft depth and the water temperature, such that the released gases are floated to the water surface along predetermined flow lines on the hull.
