    Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for motion recognition and control of a prosthetic device. The system of the present invention uses a movement detector for detecting dimensional motion of a non-disabled physical appendage and generating motion information based on this detecting. The system further includes a microcontroller adapted to be connected to the movement detector for receiving and processing the motion information transmitted from the one or more movement detectors. The system controls a prosthetic device which has actuators that are configured to actuate motion of the prosthetic device based on the processing of the motion information.
