  • Publication number: 20260051258
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for airport network-based surface collision avoidance. An aircraft position is received from at least one geospatial sensor. An intruder aircraft position is received via a communication system. A ground surface network is retrieved from an aircraft moving database. The intruder aircraft position is mapped to a first ground surface pathway and the aircraft position is mapped to a second ground surface pathway. A sum of half of a wingspan of the intruder aircraft and half of a wingspan of the aircraft is compared to a distance between a first centerline of the first ground surface pathway and a second centerline of the second ground surface pathway. A potential wingtip collision alert is issued for display based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 12536914
Abstract: A method and system for generating a taxi assist path for an aircraft at an airport has been developed. First, a network of taxiways/runways for the airport is retrieved and used to generate multiple taxi assist paths for the aircraft from the present location of the aircraft to the destination of the aircraft. An optimum taxi assist path is selected for the aircraft from the multiple taxi assist paths. A mapping diagram of painted taxiway guidance lines for the airport is retrieved. The optimum taxi assist path is then modified to match corresponding painted taxiway guidance lines and displayed on an aircraft display device.

  • Publication number: 20250242938
Abstract: A method and system for computing the deceleration performance to a destination point of a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft has been developed. First, predicted performance of the deceleration of the VTOL aircraft is generated and based on pre-determined data for the VTOL aircraft. Sensors of the VTOL aircraft are monitored to capture real-time performance of the deceleration of the VTOL aircraft. A blended display is created of deceleration of the VTOL aircraft by blending the predicted performance and the real-time performance and is shown to the pilot of the VTOL aircraft. The blended display is continuously adjusted by weighting emphasis on the predicted performance based on the degree of correlation to the real-time performance.

  • Publication number: 20250232684
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating collision avoidance directives. A current lateral incursion of an intruder aircraft onto a runway is determined based on a location of the intruder aircraft. An incursion line extending across the runway based on the location of the intruder aircraft is defined. A time to collision when an ego aircraft is expected to cross the incursion line is determined. A predicted lateral incursion of the intruder aircraft onto the runway based on the time to collision, the current lateral incursion, and a velocity of the intruder aircraft is generated. A determination is made whether a lateral margin between the ego aircraft and the intruder aircraft on the runway at the time to collision is greater than a lateral margin tolerance. A first directive alert to proceed with the one of a take-off and a landing via the runway is generated based on the determination.

  • Patent number: 11851215
Abstract: Systems and methods for calibrating a synthetic image on an avionic display. The method includes receiving a synthetic image frame generated by an avionic display system and a sensor image frame from a forward-facing onboard sensor system. Object recognition is performed on the sensor image frame to generate a first search region for a first Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) marking, defined as a first search region-FAA marking pair. The sensor image frame and the first search region-FAA marking pair are processed using a deep learning method (DLM) to determine for the first FAA marking of the first search region-FAA marking pair, each of: a position deviation calculation, an orientation deviation calculation, and a synthetic image distortion factor. The synthetic image frame is then updated and rendered in accordance with the position deviation calculation, the orientation deviation calculation, and the synthetic image distortion factor, thereby calibrating the synthetic image frame.
