Abstract: A semiconductor device metrology including creating a time-domain representation of wavelength-domain measurement data of light reflected by a patterned structure of a semiconductor device, selecting a relevant and irrelevant portion of the time-domain representation, and determining one or more measurements of one or more parameters of interest of the patterned structure by performing model-based processing using the relevant portion of the time-domain representation.

The subscriber has several options with respect to the type of recording: dictation-type recording, automatic recording upon dialing and answer by a called party, or selective recording of any portion of a conversation upon activation of pre-assigned keys on the telephone. The recorded calls are then stored for later retrieval by the subscriber, e.g., on a storage server. The system may be used from both land-based and mobile telephones.

When making an outgoing call, the telephone network queries the database and determine whether the telephone line is subscribed. If the telephone is subscribed, the telephone network communicates with a server which requests the user to enter the user's identifier, e.g., a dialing code or voice print. It is then determined which, if any, call control limitations, are placed upon the user and whether and for how long the call can be connected.

Abstract: Methods for international cellular calls include purchasing cellular telephones in bulk in a destination country, taking them to an origin country for rental to travelers to the destination country, providing dedicated switching equipment in both the origin and destination countries, and programming the cell phones and the switching equipment to direct calls between the origin and destination countries through the dedicated switching equipment. The apparatus of the invention includes the cell phones, the switching equipment, and the communication link(s) between the origin and destination countries. According to the presently preferred embodiment, the dedicated switching equipment and the cell phones are owned by the same company or related companies. The communications link(s) between the origin and destination countries is (are) preferably leased from another company.
