  • Publication number: 20210270746
Abstract: A diamond evaluation device includes a lightproof enclosure and a platform for supporting a diamond to be evaluated, the platform being transmissive of ultraviolet C (UVC) radiation. At least one source of UVC radiation to irradiate the diamond includes at least one source that is a lower source located below the platform on an opposite side of the platform from the diamond when the diamond is supported by the platform. A light detector detects visible light that is emitted by the diamond at least as phosphorescence after irradiation of the diamond. A display displays a result of detection of the emitted light so as to enable at least distinguishing between emission of phosphorescence that is characteristic of a laboratory-grown diamond, and an absence of phosphorescence that is characteristic of a natural diamond.

  • Publication number: 20210234149
Abstract: An electrochemical cell includes an anode including an anode material including silicon capable of reversibly incorporating lithium ions therein. The cell includes a cathode including an active cathode material capable of reversibly incorporating lithium ions therein. The cell includes a non-aqueous electrolyte solution in contact with the anode and the cathode. After the first charge and discharge cycle of the cell, when the cell is discharged to a voltage of 2.5 volt, the charge capacity due to the active lithium remaining incorporated in the anode active material is at least 20% of the total charge capacity obtained after charging the cell to a voltage of 4.1 volt. In the discharged state to 2.5 volt, the cathode active material is over-lithiated. The cathode material may have a formula of Li(M)O2 where M may include one or more transition metals and may also include non-transition metal(s). Cell discharging is limited to 2.5 V.

  • Patent number: 6713511
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel acylate which is the reaction product of (a) a substance which is selected from the group consisting of naturally occuring alpha-aminocarboxylic acids, neurotransmitters other than such acids, and central or peripheral nervous system pharmacologically active compounds, and containing a functional group including an acylatable hydrogen atom, or a reactive derivative thereof; and (b) an essential fatty acid or a reactive derivative thereof; and including the pharmaceutically acceptable salts of such acylates possessing a basic and (or) acidic function; and to their functional derivatives. The acylates and their functional derivatives may be used for treatment of a disease or condition related to a neurotransmitter defector deficiency, or to another central or peripheral nervous system defect or deficiency, and in particular Parkinson's disease.
