  • Patent number: 11547336
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for monitoring a subject. A sensor monitors the subject and generates a sensor signal in response thereto and a plurality of filters are used to filter the sensor signal using respective filter parameters. A computer processor receives the sensor signal, filters the signal with each of two or more of the filters, and in response to a quality of each of the filtered signals, selects one of the plurality of filters to filter the sensor signal. Subsequently, the computer processor detects that the subject has undergone motion, by analyzing the sensor signal, and in response thereto, filters the signal with each of two or more of the filters, and in response to a quality of each of the filtered signals, selects one of the plurality of filters to filter the sensor signal. Other applications are also described.

  • Publication number: 20220031196
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described, including apparatus for use with a subject who shares a bed with a second person. A motion sensor detects motion of the subject and motion of the second person, and generates a motion signal in response thereto. A control unit identifies components of the motion signal that were generated in response to motion of the subject, by distinguishing between components of the motion signal that were generated in response to motion of the subject, and components of the motion signal that were generated in response to motion of the second person. The control unit analyzes the components of the motion signal that were generated in response to motion of the subject and generates an output in response thereto. Other applications are also described.

  • Publication number: 20210100489
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for use with a seat (82) of a vehicle, including a sensor unit (80) configured to be placed underneath the seat and configured to detect motion of a subject who is sitting on the seat during motion of the vehicle. The sensor unit includes a housing (90, 100), a first motion sensor (96, 106) disposed within the housing such as to generate a first sensor signal that is indicative of the motion of the vehicle, and a second motion sensor (98, 108) disposed within the housing, such as to generate a second sensor signal that is indicative of the motion of the subject and the motion of the vehicle. A computer processor at least partially distinguishes between motion of the subject and motion of the vehicle by analyzing the first and second sensor signals. Other applications are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200281523
Abstract: A sensor monitors a subject and generates a signal. A computer processor receives the signal, derives therefrom data related to a heart rate of the subject and/or a respiration rate of the subject, derives from the signal at least one subject status indication that the subject is: awake and not moving, moving and asleep, not moving, asleep, awake and moving and in a bed, in a particular sleep stage while asleep, and/or has been continuously in a bed over a previous in-bed period of at least 15 hours, determines a threshold of at least 0.7 times an aerobic heart rate threshold and/or at least 0.7 times an aerobic respiratory rate threshold, and generates an alert if the signal indicates that the physiological parameter of the subject exceeds the threshold for an amount of time determined in response to the subject status indication. Other applications are also described.

  • Publication number: 20190083044
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for monitoring a female subject. During a first menstrual cycle of the subject a computer processor predicts an upcoming ovulation of the subject, generates an output, on at least one user interface device, in response to predicting the upcoming ovulation, and receives from the subject, via the user interface device, an indication of one or more sensations that are sensed by the subject during a time period that is in temporal proximity to the predicted upcoming ovulation. During a second menstrual cycle of the subject, subsequent to the first menstrual cycle, the computer processor predicts an upcoming ovulation of the subject, at least partially based upon the indication received from the subject during the first menstrual cycle, and generates, on the user interface device, an output in response to predicting the upcoming ovulation of the subject. Other applications are also described.
