Skateboard scooter with wheels and a blade

A skateboard scooter comprises a main board and a blade releasably attached to the main board. In an embodiment, the main board includes several through-holes. An attachment base is mounted below the main board and has several through-holes aligned with the through-holes of the main board. Bolts are extended through the through-holes of the main board and the through-holes of the attachment base and engaged with nuts. The attachment base includes two parallel ribs defining a compartment therebetween for holding an upper longitudinal edge of the blade. In an alternative embodiment, the main board includes two parallel ribs extended downward therefrom. The ribs include at least one pair of aligned transverse holes. The blade includes at least one hole. At least one bolt is extended through the transverse holes of the ribs and the hole of the blade and engaged with a nut.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to a skateboard scooter with wheels and a blade, wherein the blade is releasably attached to the skateboard scooter for moving on ice.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] A typical skateboard scooter includes two wheels and may be folded to reduce volume to allow easy carriage and transportation. The skateboard scooter can be used on an ordinary ground yet cannot be used on ice. The present invention is intended to provide a skateboard scooter to which a blade is releasably attached such that people may enjoy skating on ice with the skateboard scooter.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] A skateboard scooter in accordance with the present invention comprises a main board and a blade releasably attached to the main board. In an embodiment of the invention, the main board includes a plurality of through-holes. An attachment base is mounted below the main board and has a plurality of through-holes aligned with the through-holes of the main board. Bolts are extended through the through-holes of the main board and the through-holes of the attachment base and engaged with nuts. The attachment base includes two parallel ribs defining a compartment therebetween for holding an upper longitudinal edge of the blade.

[0006] In an alternative embodiment, the main board includes two parallel ribs extended downward therefrom. The ribs include at least one pair of aligned transverse holes. The blade includes at least one hole. At least one bolt is extended through the transverse holes of the ribs and the hole of the blade and engaged with a nut.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 3, a skateboard scooter in accordance with the present invention generally includes a main board 10, a front wheel 12, and a rear wheel 14. A brake 16 may be provided to brake the rear wheel 14 for reducing the speed of the skateboard scooter. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the main board 10 includes a plurality of through-holes 11. An attaching device is used to attach a blade 20 to the skateboard scooter.

[0013] In this embodiment, the attaching device includes an attachment base 30 with a plurality of through-holes 32 aligned with the through-holes 11, and bolts 15 are extended through the through-holes 11 of the main board 10 and the through-holes 32 of the attachment base 20 and then engaged with nuts 17. Thus, the attachment base 30 is securely, releasably attached to the main board 10 at a position below the main board 10. The attachment base 30 includes two parallel ribs 31 having a compartment (not labeled) therebetween for receiving an upper longitudinal edge of a blade 20. It is noted that the upper longitudinal edge of the blade 20 is reliably held between the ribs 31 and spot-welding is provided to weld the blade 20 to the ribs 31. Thus, the blade 20 is securely attached between the ribs 31, best shown in FIG. 3.

[0014] As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 3, the skateboard scooter can be used on ice. The blade 20 penetrates into the ice such that the wheels 12 and 14 are slightly in contact with the ice surface. Steering of the skateboard scooter is easy by a steering device 19 attached to the front wheel 12. The brake 16 can be used to reduce the speed of the skateboard scooter when required.

[0015] FIG. 4 illustrates a modified embodiment of the skateboard scooter wherein the attachment base (now designated by 12) is integrally formed with the main board 10 and includes two parallel ribs 121 projected downward from the main board 10. The ribs 121 have at least one pair of aligned transverse holes 122. A bolt 50 is extended through the holes 122 and an associated hole 41 in the blade 40 and then engaged with a nut 52. Thus, the blade 40 is securely attached between the ribs 121. When the blade 40 is not in use, it can be detached from the attachment base 12 which is at a level higher than the wheels 12 and 14 without interfering with movement of the wheels 12 and 14.

[0016] According to the above description, it is appreciated that the skateboard scooter in accordance with the present invention may have a blade attached thereto so as to be used on ice. Thus, people may enjoy board skating on ice.

[0017] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.

Claims

1. A skateboard scooter comprising:

a main board; and
a blade releasably attached to the main board.

2. The skateboard scooter as claimed in

claim 1, wherein the main board includes a plurality of through-holes, further comprising an attachment base mounted below the main board and having a plurality of through-holes aligned with the through-holes of the main board, and a plurality of bolts being extended through the through-holes of the main board and the through-holes of the attachment base and engaged with a plurality of nuts, the attachment base including two parallel ribs defining a compartment therebetween for holding an upper longitudinal edge of the blade.

3. The skateboard scooter as claimed in

claim 1, wherein the main board includes two parallel ribs extended downward therefrom, the ribs including at least one pair of aligned transverse holes, the blade including at least one hole, at least one bolt being extended through said at least one pair of the transverse holes of the ribs and said at least one hole of the blade and engaged with a nut.

4. The skateboard scooter as claimed in

claim 1, wherein the main board further comprises a front wheel attached to a front end thereof and a rear wheel attached to a rear end thereof.

5. The skateboard scooter as claimed in

claim 4, further comprising a steering device attached to the front wheel.
