Enveloped gift container

Abstract

The gift container has a paper outer surface folded to envelop an attached paper pocket which in use encloses a gift.

DESCRIPTION

[0002] The product is made of paper folded to envelop a pocket which can enclose a gift.

[0003] The product provides progress over prior art shown for example in for example in U.S. Pat. No. 1,346,298 by Congdon, U.S. Pat. No. 1,634,064 by Ahlquist, U.S. Pat. No. 3,829,008 by Murry, U.S. Pat. No. 5,706,947 by Hodges, U.S. Pat. No. 5,226,532 by Davidson, and U.S. Pat. No. 5,971,264 by Karahoca.

[0010] The preferred form of the gift container comprises a sheet and a pocket. The sheet is paper with offset printed markings 61, 63, and the sheet allows ink markings 62 to be added. The sheet has an outer surface and an inner surface.

[0011] The paper can be made of natural and synthetic fibers so long as markings can be added by offset printing and ink markings can be added. Plastic sheets with paper like properties which allow markings to be added by offset printing and allow ink markings to be added are included in the meaning of “paper” here. Fabrics and leathers are excluded from the meaning of “paper” here.

[0012] The sheet is folded 15 to form the outer surface into a front 11 and a back 12 and correspondingly form the inner surface into a base 21 and a panel 22. The base is the inside of the front and the panel is the inside of the back. In the preferred form the sheet is second folded 14, 24 to form a flap 13, 23 extending away from the back.

[0013] The pocket has a seat 32 at the base and has a face 31. The seat and the face are connected by a closed left side, a closed right side, and a closed bottom leaving an open top between the seat and the face.

[0014] In the form depicted in FIG. 5, the bottom 36A, the left side 34A, and the right side 35A are accordion pleated to expand. In the form depicted in FIG. 6 the right side 34B and the left side are accordion pleated.

[0015] The pocket has a closure extending across the open top, which in use secures a gift item 91, 92 in the pocket. In the preferred mode the closure is a pocket flap 33 which can lay across the open top and can be attached onto the face.

[0016] There can be a pocket fastener such as a hook-and-loop pair 51, 52 by which the pocket flap is secured to the face. The pocket flap can also be secured to the face by various other means such as adhesive 51A.

[0017] There can be no securing means provided as in FIG. 6, and the pocket flap can be secured by means—such as adhesive tape—provided by a user. The pocket flap could be left off, and the face can be secured directly to the seat by various means so long as this forms a closure across the full top to keep small items from being dropped from the pocket inadvertently.

[0018] The flap can be secured to the front by various means such as a hook-and-loop fastener pair 41, 42, adhesive, and by means provided by a user. A decoration which serves as a handle 64 can be added to the flap The flap can be left off. The face can be secured to the panel by various means such as adhesive.

[0019] A tag 71 can be attached 73 to the sheet by a cord 72. The sheet can have a first component attached to a second component with the first component forming outer surface and the second component forming the inner surface. The components can be papers with different properties.

[0020] The seat can be the base as it is in FIG. 5 at 21A, 32A, and the pocket flap can be attached to the sheet. The face can be an extension of the base.

Claims

1. A gift container product comprising:

A) a sheet,

B) the sheet being paper with offset printed markings and allowing ink markings to be added,

C) the sheet having an outer surface and an inner surface, and

D) the sheet being folded to form the outer surface into a front and a back and correspondingly form the inner surface into a base and a panel, the base being the inside of the front and the panel being the inside of the back; and

E) a pocket,

F) the pocket having a seat at the base and having a face,

G) the seat and the face being connected by a dosed left side, a closed right side, and a closed bottom leaving an open top between the seat and the face,

H) the pocket having a closure extending across the open top,

I) in use the closure securing a gift item in the pocket, and

J) in a dosed mode the front laying across the face.

2. A gift container product comprising:

A) a sheet,

B) the sheet being paper with offset printed markings and allowing ink markings to be added,

C) the sheet having an outer surface and an inner surface,

D) the sheet being folded to form the outer surface into a front and a back and correspondingly form the inner surface into a base and a panel, the base being the inside of the front and the panel being the inside of the back, and

E) the sheet being second folded to form a flap extending away from the back; and

F) a pocket,

G) the pocket having a seat at the base and having a face,

H) the seat and the face being connected by a closed left side, a closed right side, and a closed bottom leaving an open top between the seat and the face,

I) the pocket having a pocket flap extending from the sheet,

J) the pocket flap laying across the open top in use securing a gift in the pocket, and

K) in a closed mode the front laying across the panel and the flap laying on the front.

3. The product of

claim 2 further comprising:

A) a pocket fastener,

B) in use the pocket fastener securing the pocket flap to the face; and

C) a flap fastener,

D) in use the flap fastener securing the flap to the front.

4. The product of

claim 3 wherein the pocket flap fastener is adhesive.

5. The product of

claim 2 further comprising a tag connected to the sheet.

6. The product of

claim 2 wherein the seat is the base and the pocket flap extends from the sheet.

7. The product of

claim 6 wherein the face is an extension of the sheet.

8. The product of

claim 2 wherein:

A) the sheet has a first component attached to a second component,

B) the first component forming the outer surface and the second component forming the inner surface.

9. The product of

claim 2 wherein the right side and the left side are accordion pleated.

10. The product of

claim 9 wherein the bottom is accordion pleated.
