SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention concerns that of a new and improved board game which would allow a user to easily and efficiently lift up and raise the game pieces associated with the game board. The present invention would comprise a magnetic wand, magnetic game pieces, and a game board. The magnet on the magnetic wand would be placed on the magnetic wand in such a manner that it would be able to pick up the game pieces from the top while the game pieces would be located on the game board of the present invention. The game board used with the present invention could be any one of a number of game boards currently in use on the market that are used with popular board games.

[0006] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of a board game in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are, of course, additional features of the board game that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

[0007] In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the board game in detail, it is to be understood that the board game is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The board game is capable of other embodiments and being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of descriptions and should not be regarded as limiting.

[0008] As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present board game. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

[0009] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a board game which has all of the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.

[0010] It is another object of the present invention to provide a board game which may be easily and efficiently manufactured and marketed.

[0011] It is another object of the present invention to provide a board game which is of durable and reliable construction.

[0012] It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a board game which is economically affordable and available for the purchasing public.

[0013] Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment when considered with the attached drawings and appended claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0014] FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the magnetic wand of the present invention.

[0015] FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a game piece of the present invention.

[0016] FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of a game board of the present invention, with game pieces placed on top of the game board.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0017] FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of magnetic wand 2 of the present invention. Magnetic wand 2 has two ends, a first end and a second end. The first end of magnetic wand 2 has handle 4. The second end of magnetic wand 2 has flat face 6 attached to handle 4. Within flat face 6 is located magnet 8, with magnet 8 being covered by a plastic covering 10.

[0018] FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of game piece 12 of the present invention. Game piece 12 would appear to be a normal game piece, except for the fact that a magnet 14 would be embedded underneath the top surface of game piece 12. Magnet 14 within game piece 12 and magnet 8 within flat face 6 of magnetic wand 2 would be oriented such that when magnet 8 of flat face 6 of magnetic wand 2 would be placed on one or more magnets 14 within game pieces 12, game piece(s) 12 would be capable of being picked up. This unique combination of magnets would allow the present invention to save time for a user collecting game pieces and would allow handicapped and/or physically challenged persons to handle small game pieces more easily. The unique combination of magnets would also allow the present invention to easily be used while travelling.

[0019] FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of game board 16 of the present invention, with game board 16 having a plurality of squares 20 on which game pieces 12 can be placed. Under each square 20 would be an embedded magnet 18. A plurality of game pieces 12 placed on top of game board 16 can be seen. Game board 16 would be any one of a number of game boards for popular games currently on the market today, but would preferably be that of the game Scrabble®.
