Description
BACKGROUNDS OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The invention according to this application relates to a device for preventing the displacement of loads mounted on load carrier platforms such as pallets and trolleys and to a method of prevention of load displacement using the said device; that is to say, to modified or improved devices for preventing load displacement by winding bands around the load items and to a method of preventing load displacement by using these.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] The conventional means of preventing the displacement of load mounted on load carrier platforms such as pallets and trolleys has been to wind several plies of thin synthetic resin pressure film around the load concerned. When said thin pressure film is applied and/or removed, however, it is necessary to turn several times around the load so that the attachment and detachment of the film is both laborious and time-consuming. As the detached thin pressure film cannot be reused after it has been removed it has to be disposed of as a waste, thereby causing useless waste.

[0005] In order to resolve the problems associated with this thin pressure film the present invention proposes the use of load displacement preventing devices consisting essentially of the continuous mutual connection of the end parts by attaching the fastening means such as fasteners to the ends of the bands such as belts which have a sufficient length to be wound around the load mounted on the load carrier platform. (Reference may be made to Japanese Patent Laid-Open Hei7-149364, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Hei7-35330, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Hei11-11481.)

[0006] This load displacement preventing device has the advantage that it can be attached or detached by making only a single turn around the load so that this operation requires no tedious work and can be accomplished in little time and that, furthermore, it is possible to reuse the fastening device repeatedly, thereby obviating the creation of waste while ensuring extremely favorable efficiency and economy with outstanding ease of operation.

[0007] With the above-mentioned load displacement preventing device it is possible for a single operator to carry out the task of attaching (winding) the device which task consists of fastening the end part at which the winding is begun and thereupon winding said device around the load concerned by inserting, attaching the initially wound end part of the band in the attachment process or affixing it to the load itself so that there is no ground to fear that the mounted load might be dislocated or displaced during the attachment operation or that said mounted load (or container) might be damaged.

[0008] Nor is it necessary with the above mentioned load displacement preventing device to use bands of a width equal to the height of the mounted load or to wind short-width bands around each boundary (stage) of the mounted load in order to prevent the displacement of loads mounted in several tiers or stages; in other words, there is no possibility that the stacked load might be dislocated or displaced from the locations (boundaries) at which the load displacement preventing device has not been wound.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The invention according to the present application purports to resolve problems of this nature and its purpose is to offer a device for preventing the displacement of loads mounted on load carrier platform platforms such as pallets and trolleys and to a method of prevention of load displacement using the said device in such a manner that the attachment and detachment thereof can be accomplished by a single person in little time without requiring tedious work and that the device can be reused repeatedly and that, furthermore, it is also possible to maintain in position loads stacked in several tiers or stages (in other words, prevent their displacement) in an efficient manner without any possibility of its being dislocated or displaced during the attachment operation.

[0010] In accordance with the invention of the present application, the initially wound end of the band which is to be wound around the respective load mounted on the load carrier platform for preventing its displacement is fastened without using the load; and, furthermore, by allowing for some resilience in the fastening of the initially wound end, the said bands will not come out of their position in a disturbing manner during the attachment operation and the winding operation can be accomplished to suit the load in any prescribed location (height); and it is possible, when necessary, to wind the bands wound around the load in continuous rows (vertically).

[0076] The load displacement preventing device (40) constituted as described herein above is designed to prevent the displacement of the load in such a manner that a single person can carry out all operations, and, as shown in FIG. 9, the load is prevented from displacement by first mounting the hook type fastener (42A) of the load displacement preventing band (40A) in such a manner as to hook on at any desired position to the load carrier platform (P) on which the load (A) is mounted, by adjusting the winding position (height) so that the boundaries of the respective load (A) are covered and protected while fastening said hook type fastener (42A) by suitably pulling in the slantwise direction, and by mutually connecting the fastening means (44a, 44b) after completely winding around said load (A) to bind it together, and next by installing hook type fasteners (42B) on the second load displacement preventing band (40B) in such a manner as to hook on to any one of the multiplicity of coupling members (47 . . . 47) provided also on the top end of the first load displacement preventing band (40A) by adjusting the winding position (height) so that the boundaries of the respective load (A) are covered and protected while suitably pulling in the slantwise direction, and after winding said band completely around said load to bind the load (A) together, the fastening means (44′a, 44′b) are interconnected, whereupon the remaining coupling members (47 . . . 47) on the side provided at the top end of the first load displacement device (40A) in the lengthwise direction and the remaining coupling members (48 . . . 48) on the other side provided at the bottom of the second load displacement preventing device (40B) in the lengthwise direction are mutually coupled with each other, and whereupon after placing the top-covering protective sheet (40C) so as to cover the top of said load (A), the coupling members (47′ . . . 47′) on one end provided at the top of the second load displacement preventing band (40B) in the lengthwise direction are mutually connected with the coupling members (58 . . . 58) on the other side provided at the front end of said top-covering protective sheet (40C) via extendible/contractable (elastic) members (59) in the shape of long and narrow bands In all of the embodiments described herein above, the extendible/contractable (elastic) members for mounting the hook type fasteners and coupling members (in other words, the intermediate members between the band and the hook type members and between the bands and the coupling members) consist of rubber. However, the invention of this application gives this only as an example without limitation thereto, and as shown in FIG. 10, it is also possible to mount a hook type fastener or coupling member (68) with an appropriate extension/contraction force such as a spring on the load displacement preventing band (61B) located at the top.

[0077] Furthermore, in the embodiments described herein above, the coupling members represent hooks and rubber rings. However, the invention of this application gives this only as an example without limitation thereto, it is also possible, without prejudice, to mount a shape consisting of the hook shown in FIG. 10 and the annular recess (67) shown in FIG. 11. and also to install cord and buckle belts irrespective of whether they possess resilience or not, on the band (61A) of the load displacement preventing device located at the bottom.

[0078] In accordance with the invention of this application, the attachment and detachment operation on the load mounted on the load carrier platform such as a pallet or trolley is not a laborious procedure requiring tedious work and time and can easily be performed by a single person and the device is capable of repeated reuse, and apart from this, the fact that the load is not used at all in or for fastening the load displacement preventing device in the initial winding operation means that there is no risk of the stacked load's being dislocated or displaced or damaged during the mounting operation.

[0079] Furthermore, through the combination of a plurality of load displacement preventing devices it is possible to maintain the stack conditions in an efficient manner even in the case of loads stacked in several tiers or stages.

[0080] With the use of a top-covering protective sheet it is also possible to protect the top surface of the load and not only protect the load laterally against impact on contact due the load displacement preventing band and against rain and dust.
