Putter for golf

The present invention relates to the improvement in the conventional putter head made of metallic tint and various other colors usually marked with white-colored exact aiming line and direction indicator to enhance the exactness through improved concentrated power in putting by inducing the golfer's sight line to direct only to the exact aiming line on the top surface of the putter head in a putting green. Thus, the invention proposes a putter for golf, consisting of a putter head 6 marked with a exact aiming line(3), a shaft(4) and a grip(5), wherein a coated layer(2) having the pattern of the same atmosphere as or the atmosphere similar to that of a putting green(1) so as to be mistaken for the putting green is formed on the top surface of the putter head(6), and a exact aiming line(3) is painted on the top surface of the coated layer(2) to be differentiated from the coated layer(2), so that a golfer can have a clear look at the exact aiming line(3) on the putter head(6) for an exact putting.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a putter for golf and more particularly to a putter for golf intended for improving the putting exactness in putting on a putting green.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The golf putter is composed of a grip, shaft and putter head, as seen in FIG. 1.

[0003] Incidentally, in a conventional putter, the putter head was in mere metallic tint or in color pattern other than putting green and the exact aiming line and direction indicator painted on the top surface of the putter head had colors different from those of the remaining putter head, as seen in FIG. 2.

[0004] In putting with such a conventional putter, there was a problem in realizing an exact take-back and putting, as a golfer tends to experiences a considerable visual difficulty concentrating his line of sight on the exact aiming line and direction indicator on the top surface of a putter head, owing to the distracting patterns including stripes or the like in colors other than the putting green.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention was devised to resolve the above-described problem and is intended to help improve the concentrating power of a golfer, so that he may putt the strike point exactly as calculated, when he shoots a golf ball after he first positions the putter opposite to the hole with regard to the golf ball, assumes the putting posture and calculates the direction, in the case of putting on a green where highest prudence is required for a golfer.

[0006] In order to achieve the object of the invention, the present invention proposes, on the top surface of a putter head, the formation of coated layer with the same pattern as or pattern similar to the pattern of putting green to cause mixed-up vision, so that the golfer may be caused to watch only the exact aiming line marked on the top surface of the putter head when putting to thereby contribute to precise putting through the concentrated line of vision.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] FIG. 1 shows the perspective view of a golf putter according to the invention,

[0008] FIG. 2 shows the photograph of a conventional golf putter illustrating the state of use,

[0009] FIG. 3 shows the photograph of a golf putter according to the invention illustrating the state of use and

[0010] FIG. 4 shows the golf putter in cross section along the line A-A in FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0011] A preferred embodiment of the invention will be described in detail below by referring to the accompanying drawings.

[0012] As shown in FIG. 1, the golf putter 7 is composed of a grip 5, shaft 4 and putter head 6.

[0013] In addition to the general structure as described above, the golf putter 7 according to the invention is featured by a coated layer 2 formed on the putter head 6, which layer has the same atmosphere as or the atmosphere similar to that of a putting green 1 so as to be mistaken for the green, as seen in FIGS. 3 and 4.

[0014] The coated layer 2 is formed on the surface of a putter head which is made of the ordinary material such as aluminum, brass, titanium, carbide or the like to produce the same atmosphere as a putting green 1, wherein on the top surface of the coated layer 2, the same exact aiming line 3 as used in painting the ordinary putter head 6 is further formed through painting in the form of “├”, “”, “┐” or the like.

[0015] The coated layer 2 on the golf putter 7 according to the invention is formed according to the following examples of manufacturing process.

[0016] According to the first example based on the ordinary metal-enamel-handicraft, first a putter head 6 made of aluminum, brass or the like is, on its surface, roughened, and the roughened head is coated with enamel paint in powder state having a variety of colors to produce green pattern before being subjected to heat treatment in a heat treating device, and this process of enamel coating and heat treating is repeated several times until a coated layer 2 having the atmosphere of putting green 1 is adhered on the putter head 6. The coated layer so formed can be firmly attached to the putter head 6 through hardening at a normal temperature.

[0017] The enamel paint in powder form as described above is formed of the powder of the metals having substantially the same thermal expansion as the putter head 6, the powder of titan oxide, silicon oxide or the like and pigments of various colors. While these substances are usually coated in the order as described, the powder of titan oxide, silicon oxide or the like and pigments of various colors may be coated at the same time.

[0018] According to another example, the coated layer 2 can be prepared by the process comprising the steps of coating pigment on a thin plastic substrate to produce green pattern so that a separate substrate for lamination may be formed, and subsequently attaching the substrate for lamination so formed on the top surface of the putter head by using an adhesive based on synthetic resin.

[0019] As the adhesive based on synthetic resin to be used in the process, both the thermosetting resins including phenol resin, urea resin and melamine resin and the thermoplastic resins including polyester resin, polyurethane resin, epoxy resin, silicone resin, polyvinyl butyral resin and polyacrylic acid ester resin can be used in the liquid form. However, in the present invention, the polyurethane resin or epoxy resin is most desirable in consideration of the material of the putter head.

[0020] In the two processes for acquiring coated layers 2 as explained above, the former one may be more preferable than the latter one in view of durability.

[0021] It is to be understood that, while the invention was described mainly with respect to a specific embodiment, the invention is not restricted to the embodiment and other modifications and alterations would be possible to a man skilled in the art by referring to the description or drawings presented here and within the spirit of the invention and thus those modifications or alterations are to fall within the scope of the invention, which scope should be limited only by the attached claim.

Claims

1. A putter for golf, consisting of a putter head 6 marked with a exact aiming line(3), a shaft(4) and a grip(5), wherein

a coated layer(2) having the pattern of the same atmosphere as or the atmosphere similar to that of a putting green(1) so as to be mistaken for the putting green is formed on the top surface of the putter head(6), and
a exact aiming line(3) is painted on the top surface of the coated layer(2) to be differentiated from the coated layer(2), so that a golfer can have a clear look at the exact aiming line(3) on the putter head(6) for an exact putting.

2. The putter for golfer according to claim 1, wherein the coated layer(2) on the top surface of the putter head(6) is formed by coating an enamel paint followed by heat treatment, so that said coated layer may be in green or similar pattern to cause mistake for putter green.

3. The putter for golfer according to claim 1, wherein the coated layer(2) on the top surface of the putter head(6) is formed by attaching a plastic substrate on the top surface of the putter head by using an adhesive based on synthetic resin, said plastic substrate being painted in green or similar pattern to cause mistake for putter green.
