Holder for portable terminal

A holder for a portable terminal allows the terminal to be used stably even if the terminal is mounted on a forearm, and prevents a heat from the portable terminal form being conducted directly. The holder for a portable terminal comprising a holding unit for holding the portable terminal detachably along the longitudinal direction of the forearm, a first mounting unit for fixing the holding unit to the forearm, and a second mounting unit for fixing the holding unit to a thumb or palm. The holding unit includes a forearm pad made of highly insulating material. The second mounting unit includes a palm band and a thumb band for fixing the holding unit to the palm and thumb, respectively.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A holder for a portable terminal is presented for a stable use of the portable terminal, even if the terminal in mounted on a forearm, and for not conducting a heat from the portable terminal directly to a body of a user.

[0003] The holder for a portable terminal comprises a holding unit for holding the portable terminal detachably along a longitudinal direction of a forearm, a first mounting unit for fixing the holding unit to the forearm, and a second mounting unit for fixing the holding unit to a thumb or palm. The holder holding the portable terminal on the forearm thereby prevents the portable terminal from rotating by its own weight and allows it to be used stably even when not fixed firmly, so that it can be mounted for a long time.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0008] An exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described below with referring to FIG. 1.

[0009] FIG. 1 is an appearance view a holder, for a portable terminal, mounted on a forearm according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 1A is a front-side view, and FIG. 1B is a back-side view. A portable terminal 1 incorporates a display unit 2. A holding unit 3 holding the portable terminal 1 includes a forearm pad 4 made of highly insulating material. The insulating material of the forearm pad 4 is preferably a highly insulating and soft material such as cloth or molded material. The forearm pad 4 has a mounting unit 5 for tightly contacting a forearm 11 and a forearm fixing band 6 for fixing the unit to the forearm 11. At the leading end of the holding unit 3, a selvage 7 extending from the holding unit 3 contacts tightly the back of a palm 12. The selvage 7 is fixed to the palm 12 with a palm band 8, and also fixed to the thumb 13 with a thumb band 9.

[0010] The operation of the holser for a portable terminal having such configuration will be explained below. A user, when using the portable terminal 1 with wearing on the forearm 11, makes the forearm pad 4 of the holding unit 3 touch the forearm 11, makes the mounting unit 5 contact the forearm 11 from both sides, and winding the forearm band 6 around the forearm 11 to fix the holder. The user then winds the palm band 8 around the palm 12 and further fixes the mounting unit to the thumb 13 with the thumb band 9. Only winding the forearm band 6 around the forearm 11 allows the portable terminal 1 to rotate by its own weight, and however further fixing the terminal to the palm 12 with the palm band 8 prevents the terminal from rotating. Additionally fixing the terminal to the thumb 13 with the thumb band 9 prevents the terminal from rotating more securely.

[0011] Thus, the portable terminal 1 can be stably worn on the forearm 11 without being fixed firmly. As a result, the portable terminal 1 can be worn for a long time.

[0012] The heat generated in the portable terminal 1 is insulated by the forearm pad 4, thus not being conducted to the forearm 11.

[0013] Moreover, a heat conducting material employed at the side, of the holding unit, contacting the portable terminal 1 gets the terminal cool, and prevents the terminal from temperature rising.

[0014] The forearm band 6 may have an adjustable length and thereby allows the holder for a portable terminal to be worn stably according to an individual user.

Claims

1. A holder for a portable terminal for mounting the portable terminal on a body, comprising:

a holding unit for holding the portable terminal along a longitudinal direction of a forearm of the body,
a first mounting unit for fixing said holding unit to the forearm, and
a second mounting unit for fixing said holder to at least one of a finger and palm of the body.

2. The holder for the portable terminal of claim 1, wherein said second mounting unit fixes said holding part to a thumb and the palm of the body.

3. The holder for the portable terminal of claim 1, wherein said holding unit includes a selvage extended nearly at least to the thumb and palm, and said second mounting unit is provided at said selvage.

4. The holder for the portable terminal of claim 1, wherein said holding unit is made of heat insulating material.

5. The holder for the portable terminal of claim 1, wherein said holding unit is made of heat conducting material at a side contacting the portable terminal, and of heat insulating material at a side facing the forearm.

6. The holder for the portable terminal of claim 1, wherein said first mounting unit includes a forearm band wound around the forearm and an adjusting mechanism for adjusting a length of said forearm band.
