Oral Mugwort-moxibustion pipe

Mugwart-moxibustion is widely used for curing many diseases in Asian countries. However, because of constraints on its usage, it could not be applied to the respiratory system. To solve this problem, this invention was devised. Through the use of a smoking pipe stuffed with mugwart, respiratory disease, such as inflammation, pharyngitis, and emphysema, can be cured. The embodiment of the invention, “Oral Mugwart-moxibustion pipe”, is comprised of three parts. One is a mouth filter for filtering harmful substances. The second is a connecting pipe to link the mouth filter and smoking part. The other is smoking part to hold mugwort to be smoldered.

[0001] This application claims the benefit of patent application number 20-0214486, filed Dec. 11, 2000, in the Korea Intellectual Property Office (“KIPO”) for an invention having the above-stated title. As-filed KIPO patent application number 20-0214486 (“Foreign Application”) is hereby incorporated herein by reference. Oral Mugwort-moxibustion Pipe BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] 1. Field of the Invention

[0003] The invention relates to Mugwort-moxibustion. Mugwort-moxibustion is a traditional oriental therapy. (A detailed explanation of Mugwort-moxibustion will follow in the next section) The purpose of the invention is to apply Mugwort-moxibustion to the respiratory system through the use of a smoking pipe. This invention, “Oral Mugwort-moxibustion Pipe”, is comprised of a mouth filter, a connecting pipe, and smoking part.

[0007] This therapy is known to originate from China and India over 2,000 years ago. In “Hwangjaenakyung”, the most famous old Chinese medical book, it is explained in detail. In Asian countries, especially around China and India, Mugwart-moxibustion is utilized as a popular treatment for various diseases along with acupuncture.

[0008] b. How it is Used and Works

[0009] Mugwort is directly placed on the skin of the human body and then set on to a smoldering fire. This treatment provides human nerves and organization with the thermal stimulation. Scientifically, it is proven to increase the number of blood corpuscle.

[0010] c. Effect

[0011] Mugwort contains affluent chlorophyll, vegetable fiber, high-quality mineral, and various affluent vitamins. Various ingredients such as 7.7 grams of protein, 3.3 grams of fiber, 2.0 grams of ash, 140 milligrams of calcium, 70 milligrams of phosphorous, 20.23 milligrams of vitamin B, and 10.9 milligrams of iron are contained 100 grams of mugwort leaf.

[0012] Mugwort-moxibustion gets rid of coldness and reinforces energy and bloodstreams to prevent various diseases and enhance resistance against diseases. As tonic actions, Mugwort-moxibustion activates functions of cells to reinforce immunity, increasing blood pigment or hemoglobin, and performing analgesic and haemostatic actions as well.

[0013] Mugwart-moxibustion is known as an effective treatment to arthritis, bruise, neuralgia, pain and many other diseases.

[0015] To induce Mogwart-moxibustion to respiratory system, this invention requires the use of a smoking pipe. This pipe is comprised of three parts; a mouth filter, a connecting pipe, and smoking part.

[0024] b. a connecting pipe (200)—to connect the mouth filter (100) to smoldering part (300) by means of a guide hole (210).

[0025] c. smoking part (300) with holes (320)—to hold mugwort (310) to be smoldered.

[0026] While the invention has been described about the specific embodiment thereof, a number of modifications and variations may be made without departing the scope of the invention. Therefore, the scope of the invention is not restricted by the foregoing embodiment, but will be defined by the appended claims and the equivalents thereof..

Claims

1. “Oral mugwort-moxibustion pipe” consists of:

a. a mouth filter—to filter harmful substances.
b. a connecting pipe—to connect the mouth filter (100) to smoking part (300) by means of a guide hole (210).
c. smoking part (300) with holes (320)—to hold mugwort (310) to be smoldered.

2. Referring to FIG. 4, “Oral Mugwort-moxibustion Pipe” with a connecting pipe (200) to hold mugwort (310) to be smoldered and to connect the mouth filter (100) to smoking part (300).
