Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates generally to a towel rack, and more particularly to a structure for locating a rail and rail holders of the towel rack.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] As illustrated in FIGS. 1-4, a towel rack of the prior art comprises two holders 10 and a rail 11 held between the two holders 10 for holding a towel 12. The two holders are fastened with the wall. The rail 11 is held by the two holders 10 in such a manner that both ends of the rail 11 are retained in the retaining slots of the two holders 10.

[0005] Such prior art towel rack as described above is defective in design in that the rail 11 is not securely located by the two holders 10, and that the rail 11 is apt to turn at the time when the towel 12 is being removed from the rail 11, and further that the two holders 11 are vulnerable to being unfastened with the wall.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a towel rack which is free of the shortcomings of the prior art towel rack described above.

[0007] In keeping with the principle of the present invention, the foregoing objective of the present invention is attained by the towel rack comprising two holders and a rack which is securely located between the two holders by a locating structure. The locating structure comprises two guide slots, a locating block, and two retaining slots. The two guide slots are disposed in a retaining hole of the holders for receiving two opposite sides of one end of the locating block. The two retaining slots are disposed at both ends of the rail for retaining two opposite sides of other end of the locating block.

[0008] The features and the advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood upon a thoughtful deliberation of the following detailed description of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0020] As shown in FIGS. 5-11, a towel rack of the present invention comprises two holders 20 and a rail 21 which is located between the two holders 20. The holders 20 are fastened with the wall by a locating bolt. The holders 20 are provided with a retaining hole 23 in which one end of the rail 21 is retained. In other words, the rail 21 is located between the two holders 20 by two locating structures which are similar in construction to each other. Only one locating structure will be described hereinafter. The locating structure of the present invention comprises a plurality of guide slots 231, a locating block 22, and a plurality of retaining slots 211.

[0021] The guide slots 231 are disposed in the inner wall of the retaining hole 23 of the holder 20.

[0022] The locating block 22 has one longitudinal end which is dimensioned to fit securely into the guide slots 231. The longitudinal end of the locating block 22 may be rectangular or cruciform in its cross section. In addition, the locating block 22 may be integrally formed with the holder 20.

[0023] The retaining slots 211 are disposed at one end of the rail 21 and are dimensioned and shaped to retain other longitudinal end of the locating block 22.
