Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] (a) Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a backpack which is worn about the waist of a user, and more particularly to a backpack for preventing inconvenience in walking caused by sagging of a backpack due to articles therein by employing a pair of pulling means which simultaneously provide pulling power upward and crosswise on both sides of a lower part of the backpack, such that the lower part of the backpack can be adhered to the waist more firmly.

[0003] (b) Description of the Related Art

[0004] Various kinds of waist-worn backpacks having small storage compartments in which only simple and essential small amounts of baggage can be accommodated have recently been introduced. Basic structures of these waist-worn backpacks are such that both sides thereof are united with a wearing belt, and they can be fastened about the waist of a user by a buckle at an end portion of the belt. Furthermore, pulling straps are connected with the belt and upper side of the backpack, thereby preventing the upper side from falling backward because of the weight of articles contained therein, such that safety can be assured when the backpack is worn by a user. However, since these backpacks have a function of pulling only from the upper side of a compartment, the following problems have been exposed. That is, because of their weight when a large amount of goods are carried in the compartments, they tend to slip more and more below the waist of a user and contact the hip allowing undulation, thereby causing much inconvenience in walking or movement of a user. Moreover, a sense of unity with the body is deteriorated due to poor clinging characteristics to the waist of a user because of excessive swinging around the waist, handling of the pack is inconvenient, and a feeling of fatigue is increased.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention was invented so as to solve and alleviate problems caused from the conventional waist belt structured backpacks described in the above. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention, considering problems of the conventional technologies, to provide a waist belt structured backpack for solving or alleviating such application problems as its undulating or swinging around the waist of a user caused by sagging of the pack due to articles contained therein, by employing pulling means which can draw a lower part of the backpack upward and crosswise simultaneously at both sides of the lower part such that the lower side of the backpack can cling to the waist more firmly.

[0006] In order to achieve the above described object, the present invention provides a waist belt structured backpack comprising:

[0007] a compartment which carries articles (1);

[0008] a waist belt (3) having a buckle (2) which is united with both side ends of said compartment; and

[0009] an upper side pulling strap (4) connected through a buckle (5) which pulls the upper side of said compartment (1) toward a waist side, wherein said waist belt structured backpack is constructed by combining:

[0010] an upward-pulling member (6) and a transverse-pulling member (7) which are attached to a lower end of a side surface of said compartment (1);

[0011] a joint strap (8) which is united with end parts of said upward-pulling member (6) and transverse-pulling member (7); and

[0012] a lower side pulling strap (10) capable of adjusting a degree of tension,

[0013] of which one end is affixed to said waist belt (3) and the other end is inserted into a strap-fastening element (9) of a joint strap (8).

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0014] The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated in and form a part of the specifications, illustrate the preferred embodiments of the present invention, and together with the descriptions serve to explain the principles of the invention. In the drawings:

[0015] FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a preferred embodiment of the present invention; and

[0016] FIG. 2 is a side view illustrating a functioning state of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0017] In the following detailed description, only the preferred embodiment of the invention has been shown and described, simply by way of illustration of the best mode contemplated by the inventor(s) of carrying out the invention. As will be realized, the invention is capable of modification in various obvious respects, all without departing from the invention. Accordingly, the drawings and description are to be regarded as illustrative in nature, and not restrictive.

[0018] The construction of the present invention is described in detail as follows according to the enclosed drawings.

[0019] In a well known structure of a waist belt structured backpack comprising a compartment which carries articles (1); a waist belt (3) having a buckle (2) which is united with both side ends of said compartment; and an upper side pulling strap (4) connected through a buckle (5) which pulls an upper side of said compartment (1) toward a waist side, the waist belt structured backpack is constructed by combining an upward-pulling member (6) and a transverse-pulling member (7) which are attached to a lower end of a side surface of said compartment (1); a joint strap (8) which is united with end parts of said upward-pulling member (6) and transverse-pulling member (7); and a lower side pulling strap (10) capable of adjusting a degree of tension, of which one end is affixed to said waist belt (3) and another end is inserted into a strap fastening element (9) of a joint strap (8).

[0020] The function and effect of the above constructed present invention are described more in detail as follows.

[0021] The present invention is worn as in FIG. 2, wherein a waist belt (3) is passed around the waist of a user and inserted through a buckle (2), then an upper side pulling strap (4) and a lower side pulling strap (10) are drawn tight so that an article carrying compartment (1) can be tight to the waist. If the lower side pulling strap (10) is drawn in the direction of an arrow of FIG. 2, the joint strap (8) connected with a strap fastening element (9) is drawn, thus pulling an upward-pulling member (6) and a transverse-pulling member (7) simultaneously. At this moment, the upward-pulling member (6) plays a role in lifting a lower side end of the article carrying compartment (1) upward, that is, above the waist, thereby preventing the article carrying compartment (1) from slipping down, and the transverse-pulling member (7) plays a role of drawing a lower side end of the article carrying compartment (1) toward the waist, thereby improving cohesive characteristics between the article carrying compartment (1) and the waist such that undulating or excessive swinging of the article carrying compartment (1) around the waist of a user during walking or running can be prevented.

[0022] Therefore, a waist belt structured backpack of the present invention has effects of easy handling since a lower side end of an article carrying compartment can cling upward and crosswise simultaneously, i.e., toward the waist of a user more strongly, thus maintaining stable wearing conditions even when a large amount of articles are accommodated and the user is in a state of severe action or movement.

[0023] In this disclosure, there is shown and described only the preferred embodiment of the invention, but, as aforementioned, it is to be understood that the invention is capable of use in various other combinations and environments and is capable of changes or modification within the scope of the inventive concepts as expressed herein.
