Scooter bag
A Scooter Bag includes a bag designed for use with modern scooters that are foldable between a use configuration and a storage configuration. Specifically, the Scooter Bag of the present invention includes a bag having a chamber sized to receive a scooter in its storage configuration, and that is wearable as a backpack while containing the scooter. The Scooter Bag is convertable to a second, folded configuration also wearable as a backpack, but smaller in size for wearing during operation of the scooter. In this manner, the Scooter Bag provides a storage solution for scooter riders while they are not riding the scooter, but is also portable such that the bag can be worn while riding the scooter, and may include traditional backpack pouches and accessories.

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT[0038] Referring initially to FIG. 1, a perspective view of the Scooter Bag of the present invention is shown and generally designated 100. Scooter Bag 100 includes a main storage chamber 102 having an upper end 102A and a lower end 102B, an accessory chamber 104 having a zipper 114 and attached to the main chamber 102, and an arrangement of clips 108, 110, and 113 for attaching the shoulder straps 106 to accomplish the various configurations of the present invention.
[0039] Referring now to FIG. 2, an alternative perspective view of the Scooter Bag 100 of the present invention shows the zipper 116 which provides access to the main storage chamber 102. Shoulder strap 106 is shown in its split configuration with shoulder strap 106A attached to clip 120A, and shoulder strap 106B attached to clip 120B, at the lower end 102B of the main storage chamber 102. This provides for a scooter to be installed in the Scooter Bag 100, and the Scooter Bag 100 may then be worn by a user, as is discussed in conjunction with FIG. 8.
[0040] Referring now to FIG. 3, a perspective view of the Scooter Bag 100 of the present invention showing the shoulder strap 106 in its single-strap configuration where the two shoulder straps 106A and 106B are attached together to make a single strap 106, and showing the zipper 116 for accessing the interior of the main storage chamber 102.
[0041] Referring to FIG. 4, a perspective view of the Scooter Bag 100 of the present invention showing the bag in its folded configuration for use while riding a scooter. Specifically, main storage chamber 102 is folded at midsection 122 such that lower section 102B is now adjacent upper section 104, and held in place by connecting clips 113A and 108A, and 113B and 108B. In this configuration, the Scooter Bag 100 may be easily worn while using the scooter, as will be discussed in conjunction with FIG. 9.
[0042] From FIG. 4, the attachment of shoulder straps 106A and 106B to clips 110A and 110B, respectively, creates a backpack configuration which is shorter and easier to wear during the activity of riding the scooter. It should be appreciated that the lower section 102B of the main storage chamber may collapse in this configuration, thereby providing a lower profile Scooter Bag 100 for easy wearing.
[0043] Referring now to FIG. 5, a side view of a typical scooter is shown and generally designated 200. Scooter 200 includes 200 platform 204, rear wheel 206, handlebar 208 having a front wheel 210 and attached to hinge 212 and handles 214. FIG. 6 shows the scooter 200 in its folded configuration for storage, and having a width 216, a length 218, and a height 220.
[0044] Referring now to FIG. 7, a perspective view of the Scooter Bag 100 of the present invention is shown with portions of the main storage chamber 102 cut away for clarity and showing the placement of the folded scooter 200 within the chamber 102. Also shown in this view is the padded nature of the chamber walls. Specifically the main storage chamber is made of a padded material 223 which provides protection from injury to a person carrying the scooter 200 within the Scooter Bag 100, as well as providing for a padded container thereby minimizing any damage to the scooter during the storage and transportation within the bag.
[0045] From this view, Scooter Bag 100 is shown to have a width 230, a length 232, and a height 234. These dimensions, in a preferred embodiment, are slightly larger than the dimensions of the scooter 200 showing in FIG. 6. Also, it is to be appreciated that Scooter Bag 100 may be sized to fit virtually any size scooter, and that the dimensions are merely limited by the size of the person wearing the Scooter Bag 100. Furthermore, the width of accessory storage chamber 104 may be sufficient to hold traditionally sized notebooks and papers, such as 8.5×11 inch papers, in order to facilitate use of the Scooter Bag 100 for traveling to and from school.
[0046] Referring now to FIG. 8, a view of the back of a person 250 having shoulders 252, and legs 254 wearing the Scooter Bag 100 is shown. IN this view, the Scooter Bag 100 is shown with the scooter 200 contained within the Scooter Bag 100. Alternatively, FIG. 9 shows the back of the person 250 wearing the Scooter Bag 100 of the present invention in its second folded configuration as shown in FIG. 4, and using the scooter 200 previously contained in the Scooter Bag.
