Collar clip

A collar clip is integrally made of a plastic material by injection molding and is formed of a connection portion, a front plate, and a rear plate. The front plate is connected at one end with the connection portion and is provided at other end with a holding hole. The rear plate is connected at one end with the connection portion and is provided at other end with a protrusion corresponding in location to and engageable with the holding hole, and a retaining portion for retaining the bonding wire of a communication device.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates generally to a collar clip, and more particularly to a collar clip which is made integrally for use along with a communication device.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] As shown in FIG. 1, a prior art collar clip 10 comprises an upper clip member 11 and a lower clip member 12 pivoted with the upper clip member 11 in conjunction with a torsion spring 13. As the rear segments of the upper clip member 11 and the lower clip member 12 are exerted on by force of fingers, the torsion spring 13 is forcibly deformed to enable the front ends of the upper clip member 11 and the lower clip member 12 to open up to receive a collar. As the rear segments of the upper clip member 11 and the lower clip member 12 are relieved of the force of fingers, the front ends of the upper clip member 11 and the lower clip member 12 are forced by the recovery force of the torsion spring 13 to return to their original positions. As a result, the clip is held on the collar. In order to enhance the clipping effect of the prior art collar clip 10, the torsion spring 13 has a relatively large linear diameter. As a result, a user of the prior art collar clip 10 must exert a greater force on the rear segments of the two clip members 11 and 12. On the other hand, if the torsion spring 13 has a relatively small linear diameter, the clipping effect of the prior art collar clip 10 is compromised accordingly. In addition, the prior art collar clip 10 is complicated in construction such that the two clip members 11 and 12 are pivoted together by a pin 14.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a collar clip which is simple in construction and is therefore cost-effective.

[0004] In keeping with the principle of the present invention, the foregoing objective of the present invention is attained by a collar clip which is integrally made of a plastic material by injection molding and is formed of an arcuate connection portion, a front plate extending from a front end of the connection portion, and a rear plate extending from a rear end of the connection portion. The front plate is provided in the free end with a holding hole, whereas the rear plate is provided in the free end with a protrusion corresponding in location to the holding hole, and a retaining portion for retaining the bonding wire of a communication device, such as earphone or receiver.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0009] As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, a collar clip 20 of the present invention is of a U-shaped construction and is made integrally of a plastic material by injection molding. The collar clip 20 comprises an arcuate connection portion 30, a front plate 40 extending from the front end of the connection portion 30, and a rear plate 50 extending from the rear end of the connection portion 30.

[0010] The front plate 40 is connected at one end with the connection portion 30 and is provided at other end with an arcuate clip portion 41 which is provided in the midsegment with a rectangular holding hole 42, and in the tail end edge with a warped guide portion 43.

[0011] The rear plate 50 is connected at one end with the connection portion and is provided at other end with an arcuate press portion 51 which is provided in the midsegment with an arcuate protrusion 52 extending in the direction toward the holding hole 42 of the front plate 40. The protrusion 52 is dimensioned to fit into the holding hole 42 of the front plate 40. The press portion 51 is provided in the midsegment with two lugs 53 and 54, which are opposite to each other and are opposite to the back side of the protrusion 52. Located between the two lugs 53 and 54 is a space for accommodating a bonding wire 60 of a communication device, such as earphone or receiver.

[0012] The collar clip 20 of the present invention is integrally made of a plastic material by injection molding such that the front plate 40 and the rear plate 50 are provided therebetween with a clipping force. In using the collar clip 20, the front plate 40 and the rear plate 50 are pulled slightly away from each other such that there is a gap between the front plate 40 and the rear plate 50. The collar is then slid into the gap before the front plate 40 and the rear plate 50 are let go. In the meantime, the protrusion 52 of the press portion 51 of the rear plate 50 is retained in the holding hole 42 of the front plate 40, as illustrated in FIG. 4.

[0013] The guide portion 43 of the clip portion 41 of the front plate 40 is intended to help enlarge the gap between the front plate 40 and the rear plate 50, so as to facilitate the entry of the collar.

[0014] In the process of removing the collar clip 20 from the collar, the connection portion 30 is pressed with fingers and is then pulled away from the collar such that the collar is pulled out of the gap between the front plate 40 and the rear plate 50. In light of the protrusion 52 being arcuate in shape, the collar clip 20 can be easily pulled away from the collar.

Claims

1. A collar clip made integrally of a plastic material by injection molding and formed of an arcuate connection, a front plate extending from a front end of said connection portion, and a rear plate extending from a rear end of said connection portion, said front plate being connected at one end with said connection portion and provided at other end with a holding hole, said rear plate being connected at one end with said connection portion and provided at other end with a protrusion corresponding in location to said holding hole, and a retaining portion for retaining the bonding wire of a communication device.

2. The collar clip as defined in claim 1, wherein said front plate is provided with an arcuate clip portion; wherein said holding hole is located in a midsegment of said clip portion.

3. The collar clip as defined in claim 1, wherein said front plate is provided at a tail end with a warped guide portion extending therefrom.

4. The collar clip as defined in claim 1, wherein said rear plate is provided with an arcuate press portion opposite in location to one end of said connection portion; wherein said protrusion is located in a midsegment of said press portion.

5. The collar clip as defined in claim 1, wherein said protrusion of said rear plate has an arcuate shape.

6. The collar clip as defined in claim 1, wherein said retaining portion of said rear plate is formed of two lugs opposite to each other.
