Retractable handle assembly

A suitcase has a retractable handle assembly. The retractable handle assembly has a grip, a positioning seat, a base seat, two inner pipes, two outer pipes, two collars, two positioning mounts, two blocks, and two torsion springs. The base seat is disposed in a bottom of the suitcase. The positioning seat is disposed on a top portion of the suitcase. The grip has two distal sockets receiving the inner pipes. The positioning seat has two lower sleeves receiving the collars and the outer pipes. The base seat has two tubes receiving the outer pipes. The positioning mounts are inserted in the outer pipes. The blocks and the torsion springs are inserted in the inner pipes. The inner pipes are inserted through the lower sleeves, the collars and the positioning mounts and inserted in the outer pipes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a retractable handle assembly. More particularly, the present invention relates to a retractable handle assembly for a suitcase.

[0002] Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional handle device can be extended or retracted according to the operation of the user. The conventional handle device has a linear outer pipe 12 inserted in a suitcase 20, a linear inner pipe 11 connected to the linear outer pipe 12, and a grip 10 disposed on the linear inner pipe 11. However, the suitcase 20 should be tilted about thirty degrees.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] An object of the present invention is to provide a retractable handle assembly which can be operated easily.

[0004] Another object of the present invention is to provide a retractable handle assembly which is disposed on a suitcase so that the suitcase can be tilted about five to ten degrees.

[0005] Accordingly, a suitcase has a retractable handle assembly. The retractable handle assembly comprises a grip, a positioning seat, an L-shaped base seat, a first curved inner pipe, a second curved inner pipe, a first curved outer pipe, a second curved outer pipe, a first collar, a second collar, a first positioning mount, a second positioning mount, a first block, a second block, a first torsion spring, and a second torsion spring. The L-shaped base seat is disposed in a bottom of the suitcase. The positioning seat is disposed on a top portion of the suitcase. The grip has a first distal socket receiving the first curved inner pipe, and a second distal socket receiving the second curved inner pipe. The positioning seat has a groove, a first lower sleeve, and a second lower sleeve. The first lower sleeve has a first through hole communicating with the groove. The second lower sleeve has a second through hole communicating with the groove. The first lower sleeve receives the first collar. The second lower sleeve receives the second collar. The L-shaped base seat has a first hollow tube receiving the first curved outer pipe, and a second hollow tube receiving the second curved outer pipe. The first curved inner pipe has a first round hole. The second curved inner pipe has a second round hole. The first positioning mount is inserted in the first curved outer pipe and blocked by the first collar. The second positioning mount is inserted in the second curved outer pipe and blocked by the second collar. The first block and the first torsion spring are inserted in the first curved inner pipe. The second block and the second torsion spring are inserted in the second curved inner pipe. The first torsion spring has a first end inserted in the first block. The second torsion spring has a second end inserted in the second block. The first block is inserted through the first round hole of the first curved inner pipe. The second block is inserted through the second round hole of the second curved inner pipe. The first lower sleeve receives the first curved outer pipe and the first collar blocks the first curved outer pipe. The second lower sleeve receives the second curved outer pipe and the second collar blocks the second curved outer pipe. The first curved inner pipe is inserted through the first through hole of the first lower sleeve, the first collar and the first positioning mount and inserted in the first curved outer pipe. The second curved inner pipe is inserted through the second through hole of the second lower sleeve, the second collar and the second positioning mount and inserted in the second curved outer pipe.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0011] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 5, a suitcase 40 has a retractable handle assembly 30. The retractable handle assembly 30 comprises a grip 33, a positioning seat 34, an L-shaped base seat 35, a first curved inner pipe 31, a second curved inner pipe 31′, a first curved outer pipe 32, a second curved outer pipe 32′, a first collar 37, a second collar 37′, a first positioning mount 36, a second positioning mount 36′, a first block 38, a second block 38′, a first torsion spring 39, and a second torsion spring 39′.

[0012] The L-shaped base seat 35 is disposed in a bottom of the suitcase 40.

[0013] The positioning seat 34 is disposed on a top portion of the suitcase 40.

[0014] The grip 33 has a first distal socket 331 receiving the first curved inner pipe 31, and a second distal socket 331′ receiving the second curved inner pipe 31′.

[0015] The positioning seat 34 has a groove 343, a first lower sleeve 341, and a second lower sleeve 341′.

[0016] The first lower sleeve 341 has a first through hole 342 communicating with the groove 343.

[0017] The second lower sleeve 341′ has a second through hole 342′ communicating with the groove 343.

[0018] The first lower sleeve 341 receives the first collar 37.

[0019] The second lower sleeve 341′ receives the second collar 37′.

[0020] The L-shaped base seat 35 has a first hollow tube 351 receiving the first curved outer pipe 32, and a second hollow tube 351′ receiving the second curved outer pipe 32′.

[0021] A first bolt P fastens the first hollow tube 351 and the first curved outer pipe 32 together.

[0022] A second bolt P′ fastens the second hollow tube 351′ and the second curved outer pipe 32′ together.

[0023] The first curved inner pipe 31 has a first round hole 311.

[0024] The second curved inner pipe 31′ has a second round hole 311′.

[0025] The first positioning mount 36 is inserted in the first curved outer pipe 32 and blocked by the first collar 37.

[0026] The second positioning mount 36′ is inserted in the second curved outer pipe 32′ and blocked by the second collar 37′.

[0027] The first block 38 and the first torsion spring 39 are inserted in the first curved inner pipe 31.

[0028] The second block 38′ and the second torsion spring 39′ are inserted in the second curved inner pipe 31′.

[0029] The first torsion spring 39 has a first end 391 inserted in the first block 38.

[0030] The second torsion spring 39′ has a second end 391′ inserted in the second block 38′.

[0031] The first block 38 is inserted through the first round hole 311 of the first curved inner pipe 31.

[0032] The second block 38′ is inserted through the second round hole 311′ of the second curved inner pipe 31′.

[0033] The first lower sleeve 341 receives the first curved outer pipe 32 and the first collar 37 blocks the first curved outer pipe 32.

[0034] The second lower sleeve 341′ receives the second curved outer pipe 32′ and the second collar 37′ blocks the second curved outer pipe 32′.

[0035] The first curved inner pipe 31 is inserted through the first through hole 342 of the first lower sleeve 341, the first collar 37 and the first positioning mount 36 and inserted in the first curved outer pipe 32.

[0036] The second curved inner pipe 31′ is inserted through the second through hole 342′ of the second lower sleeve 341′, the second collar 37′ and the second positioning mount 36′ and inserted in the second curved outer pipe 32′.

[0037] When the retractable handle assembly is retracted, the grip 33 is inserted in the groove 343 of the positioning seat 34.

[0038] The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments but various modification thereof may be made. Furthermore, various changes in form and detail may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A suitcase having a retractable handle assembly, and the retractable handle assembly comprising:

a grip, a positioning seat, an L-shaped base seat, a first curved inner pipe, a second curved inner pipe, a first curved outer pipe, a second curved outer pipe, a first collar, a second collar, a first positioning mount, a second positioning mount, a first block, a second block, a first torsion spring, and a second torsion spring,
the L-shaped base seat disposed in a bottom of the suitcase,
the positioning seat disposed on a top portion of the suitcase,
the grip having a first distal socket receiving the first curved inner pipe, and a second distal socket receiving the second curved inner pipe,
the positioning seat having a groove, a first lower sleeve, and a second lower sleeve,
the first lower sleeve having a first through hole communicating with the groove,
the second lower sleeve having a second through hole communicating with the groove,
the first lower sleeve receiving the first collar,
the second lower sleeve receiving the second collar,
the L-shaped base seat having a first hollow tube receiving the first curved outer pipe, and a second hollow tube receiving the second curved outer pipe,
the first curved inner pipe having a first round hole,
the second curved inner pipe having a second round hole,
the first positioning mount inserted in the first curved outer pipe and blocked by the first collar,
the second positioning mount inserted in the second curved outer pipe and blocked by the second collar,
the first block and the first torsion spring inserted in the first curved inner pipe,
the second block and the second torsion spring inserted in the second curved inner pipe,
the first torsion spring having a first end inserted in the first block,
the second torsion spring having a second end inserted in the second block,
the first block inserted through the first round hole of the first curved inner pipe,
the second block inserted through the second round hole of the second curved inner pipe,
the first lower sleeve receiving the first curved outer pipe and the first collar blocking the first curved outer pipe,
the second lower sleeve receiving the second curved outer pipe and the second collar blocking the second curved outer pipe,
the first curved inner pipe inserted through the first through hole of the first lower sleeve, the first collar and the first positioning mount and inserted in the first curved outer pipe,
the second curved inner pipe inserted through the second through hole of the second lower sleeve, the second collar and the second positioning mount and inserted in the second curved outer pipe.

2. The suitcase as claimed in claim 1, wherein a first bolt fastens the first hollow tube and the first curved outer pipe together, and a second bolt fastens the second hollow tube and the second curved outer pipe together.
