Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Technical Field

[0002] The present invention relates to a piece for hanging goods on the front surface of an article mount for exhibiting goods.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] In the prior art, when it is intended to exhibit goods by hanging them on the side of wall or a shelf for exhibiting, goods are adapted to be suspended through a hanging opening 23 thereof by hanging them on the hanging pieces 21 formed on an article mount or a sheet 20 made of paperboard, as shown in FIGS. 13 and 14.

[0005] In the case of such goods exhibiting sheet of prior art, each hanging piece 21 must be pushed out one by one from the back side of the sheet 20 in order to set each goods thereon. Further, if it is intended to prevent goods from drop off from the sheet, it is necessary to secure the hanging piece 21 to the sheet by any means such as adhesive tape.

[0006] Upon the consumers picked goods off, almost all of them are used to pull goods from the sheet so that the hanging piece 21 sometimes tore off and the aesthetic appearance of the exhibiting sheet will be impaired and the motivation for purchasing goods will also be degraded.

[0007] The exhibiting sheet including L-shaped hooks on the front side thereof can also be provided. However, the following disadvantages inherent in the sheet of such structure are inevitable: the manufacturing cost of hooks themselves is relatively high; the cumbersome operation for mounting hooks on the sheet also requires cost; and the bulk of the sheet with hooks requires much higher space for transportation and storing it.

[0008] The exhibiting sheet with hooks has also a disadvantage that the clothes of consumers are sometimes caught by the hooks provided on the sheet hanged on the side of the exhibiting shelf or on the wall.

[0009] Accordingly the object of the present invention is to provide a piece for hanging goods suitable for exhibiting them in which the attaching operation of goods can be effected easily and economically, and any damage such as tearing affecting the aesthetic appearance of the exhibiting sheet will not be made upon taking goods off from the sheet.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0028] The preferred embodiments in accordance with the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0029] The piece 1 of the present invention includes as shown in FIG. 1 a substantially triangular hook portion 2 and a substantially circular anchor piece part 3 connected with each other through a neck 4 of the reduced width. The piece is made preferably of a paperboard or a sheet of synthetic resin. These materials are of slightly elastic.

[0030] An example of the method for using the piece of the present invention will now be described concretely. In such method, the pieces are to be engaged with apertures provided through an article mount or a board for exhibiting goods.

[0031] As can be seen from FIG. 2, the board for exhibiting goods is provided with a plurality of engaging openings 6, 6 through the sheet 5.

[0032] The sheet 5 is formed for example of a paperboard or a sheet of synthetic resin. A slit 7 is formed so as to extend radially from the upper rim of each engaging hole 6 as shown in FIG. 3.

[0033] The slit is formed for pressing the piece 1 therethrough. When the sheet 5 is made of a material of some resilience such as paperboard, the slit may merely be a cut. Whereas, when the sheet 5 is made of a material of less resilience such as synthetic resin, it is preferred to make the width of the slit equal to or slightly larger than that of the piece.

[0034] That designated in FIG. 2 by the reference numeral 5a is a hanging race for mounting the sheet 5 on the wall or the shelf.

[0035] The dimensional relationship between the engaging opening 6 and the piece 1 will now be described.

[0036] The breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3 is larger than the diameter (r) of the engaging opening 6, and the width (N) of the neck 4 is smaller than the diameter (r) of the engaging opening, so that the anchor piece part 3 is inserted through an opening 6 and then engaged with the back side of the sheet 5. The breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3 is equal to or smaller than the value (L) obtained through adding the diameter of the engaging opening to the length of the slit. Thus the anchor piece part 3 can be inserted through the opening and the slit 7 to the back side of the sheet.

[0037] Thus the relationship as expressed below can be obtained between the value (L) obtained through adding the diameter of the engaging opening 6 to the length of the slit 7, the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3, the diameter (r) of the engaging opening 6, and the width (N) of the neck 4.

L≧R>r>N

[0038] The breadth (W) of the hook portion 2 is larger than the diameter of an opening for hanging provided through goods to be attached, and the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3 is smaller than the diameter of opening.

[0039] An example of a method for attaching goods to the board for exhibiting goods as mentioned above will now be described with reference to FIG. 5.

[0040] At first the anchor piece part 3 of the piece 1 is inserted into the hanging opening 9 formed through the upper portion of goods 8 with aligning the breadth of the piece with the gravitational direction, and then the anchor piece part 3 is inserted through the engaging opening 6 and the slit 7 so as to position the anchor piece part 3 opposite to the back side of the sheet 5.

[0041] Upon the neck 4 reached the position of the engaging opening after passing the anchor piece part 3 therethrough the engaging opening, the piece 1 is rotated over 90° around the inserting direction the piece.

[0042] The anchor piece part 3 is then engaged with the back side of the sheet 5 since the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3 is larger than the diameter (r) of the engaging opening 6. The goods 8 can thus be hanged stably by resting the marginal portion around the hanging opening 9 on the left and right upper edges of the shoulders of the hook 2.

[0043] When it is intended to take goods out from the sheet 5, it can be achieved by rotating the piece 1 over 90° to align the breadth of the piece with the slit, and then pull it out. In some cases, the piece may be made of a tearable or fragile material such as thin paperboard so that goods can be pull off from the sheet by pulling the piece and breaking it at the neck thereof.

[0044] Although in the above mentioned embodiment the engaging opening has a slit 7 extending from the upper edge of the opening, should the value (L) obtained through adding the diameter of the engaging opening to the length of the slit 7 be equal to or larger than the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3, a pair of upwardly and downwardly extending slits 7a, 7b can be formed as shown in FIG. 6, and diagonally extending slit or slits can also be formed.

[0045] In the above-mentioned embodiment, although the access of the anchor piece part 3 of the piece into the engaging opening 6 can be obtained by forming a slit or slits extending from the edge of the opening 6, the access can also be obtained without forming the slit as shown in FIG. 7.

[0046] In such a case, the piece 1 may preferably be made of an elastic material for example a paperboard or a sheet of synthetic resin so as to enable the anchor piece part 3 to deform or reduce the breadth thereof upon inserted into the engaging opening. After passing through the engaging opening, the piece may recover its original breadth under the effect of the elastic recovery of the material of the piece, and engage with the back side of the sheet 5.

[0047] In the other embodiment in which no slit is used, an engaging opening 10 of oval or oblong shape larger in its major axis or vertical dimension (r1) and smaller in its minor axis (r2) may also be adopted (see FIG. 8). In such a case, the major axis (r1) is larger than the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 5 and the minor axis (horizontal dimension) (r2) is smaller than the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part. Upon the piece is intended to insert, the anchor piece part is inserted into the engaging opening with aligning the breadth of the piece with the gravitational direction or the direction of the major axis, and then the anchor piece part is rotated over 90° to align the breadth of the piece with the lateral direction or the direction of the minor axis, and then engage it with the back side of the sheet.

[0048] An example of the method for using the piece of the present invention with respect to the frame members of an article mount or a shelf for exhibiting goods will now be described concretely.

[0049] As shown in FIG. 9, a shelf rack 11 includes posts 11a and cross beams 11b in which a plurality of engaging openings 12 are provided

[0050] Upon employing the piece 1 the anchor piece part 3 is inserted through an opening 12 and then engaged with the back side of the rack 11. Thus, the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3 is smaller than the vertical dimension (r1) of the engaging opening 12 and smaller than the lateral breadth (r2) of the engaging opening 12, and the width (N) of the neck 4 is smaller than the lateral breadth (r2) of the engaging opening.

[0051] The method for attaching goods to the posts of the rack will now be described concretely with reference to FIGS. 11 and 12.

[0052] At first the anchor piece part 3 of the piece 1 is inserted into the hanging opening 9 formed through the upper portion of goods 8 with aligning the breadth of the piece with the gravitational direction, and then the anchor piece part 3 is inserted through the engaging opening.

[0053] Upon the neck 7 reached the position of the engaging opening after passing the anchor piece part 3 through the engaging opening, the piece 1 is rotated over 90° around the inserting direction of the pieces.

[0054] The anchor piece part 3 is then engaged with the back side of the rack 11 since the breadth (R) of the anchor piece part 3 is larger than the lateral breadth (r2) of the engaging opening 12. The goods a can thus be hanged stably by resting the marginal portion around the hanging opening 9 on the left and right upper edges of the shoulders of the hook 2.

[0055] When it is intended to take goods out, it can be achieved by rotating the piece 1 over 90°. In some cases, the piece may be made of a tearable or fragile material such as a thin paperboard so that goods can be pull off from the rack by pulling the piece and breaking it at the neck thereof.

[0056] In the case that the rack includes engaging openings 12 of circular configuration, the piece 1 may preferably be made of an elastic material for example a paperboard or a thin sheet of synthetic resin so as to enable the anchor piece part 3 to deform or reduce the breadth thereof upon inserted into the engaging opening 12. After passing through the engaging opening, the piece may recover its original breadth under the effect of the elastic recovery of the material, and engage with the back side of the rack 1.

[0057] The configuration of the piece of the present invention an not be limited to that described above, e.g. the neck 4 of the piece can be elongated, the hook 2 can be of rectangular configuration, and the anchor piece part 3 can be of oval or polygonal configuration such as rectangular configuration.

[0058] In accordance with the present invention, the anchor piece part of the piece is adapted to be inserted through an engaging opening provided through an article mount and then engaged the piece with the back side of the mount. In this connection, goods can be mounted easily without necessitating the cumbersome operation required in the prior art that a hanging piece is raised by pushed it out from the sheet before mounting goods. Further, goods can reliably be locked so that goods can be hanged stably without any reinforcement such as those provided by adhesive tape.

[0059] Even if goods are pulled out from the article mount, any damage such as tearing affecting the aesthetic appearance of the exhibiting sheet will not be made. This is because the article mount and the piece are separate elements so that the piece can be deformed to disengage with the mount or tore out under the effect of pulling force.

[0060] The piece of the present invention is simple in its structure, and can be produced economically. Further, the transporting, storing, and discarding of the piece can be made without incurring the problem of its mass, since the piece is of flat configuration.

[0061] While particular embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and described, it should be obvious to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
