Height-adjustable leisure chair

The present invention relates to a height-adjustable chair, mainly comprising a first post, a second post, a lock clamp, a seat and a seatback. The first post is of a section of sleeve tube with a tripod mount for the chair to stand on the ground. The second post is also a section of sleeve tube permissible to rise and lower in the first post with a pivot brace and a plurality of support rods for holding the seat and the seatback of the chair. The second post is permitted to slide in and out freely in the first post. A quick-action lock clamp is fixed between the first post and second post, convenient for the operator to easily press the lock wrench for rising or lower the second post within the first post and adjust the height of the chair as it suits his gesture.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a height-adjustable leisure chair, which in particular is easy for assembly, disassembly and carrying along, and it is permissible for the operator to adjust the height at his will to suit his gesture.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] For persons to sit with ease and comfort in working, attending classes and eating in the restaurant, there have been numerous types of chairs invented and developed, such as sofa, office chairs, settees, class chairs, beach chairs, stools, etc. However, the chairs required for formal occasions must be spacious, stable and comfortable, but in most cases, they are heavy in weight, bulky in construction and hard to move, which are unsuitable for the purpose of outdoor activities. Nowadays, the very popular leisure chairs are mostly integrally-formed plastic chairs, wooden chairs or foldable chairs with the advantage of small size, light weight, simplified construction, ease for being carried along and transported in the cars. However, they are normally simplified at the expense of height, which are usually lower than regular chairs; the persons who sit on them can hardly proceed the activity as they usually do. After sitting on these kinds of chairs for a long time, the persons feel pain in hips and waists or numbness in legs instead of comfort and relief. Therefore, it requires a further study for improving them in depth and length.

[0005] FIG. 1 shows a prior art of a foldable chair 10a composed of two connecting rods 11a, 12a crossly linked by a pivot 13a as a joint and a seat 14a is supported on the top of the connecting rods 11a and 12a.

[0006] It is apparent that the height of the prior art of foldable chairs is lower than that of regular chairs. After sitting on this kind of chairs for a long time, people are unable to proceed activities they prefer because they feel painful in hips and waists and numb in legs.

[0007] Viewing from the aforesaid statement, the prior art of foldable chairs presents salient defect and inconvenience, requiring a further improvement.

[0008] For years, the inventor has been working hard on removal of such defects and inconvenience the prior art of the foldable chair inheres and come up with an improvement of his invention.

[0009] The inventor is an expert in respect of the manufacture and market of the chair industry and has fabricated several samples of height-adjustable leisure chairs in accordance with the invention for trial run, which are proven more practicable and useful.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0010] The primary object of the invention is to provide a height-adjustable leisure chair, which is easy for assembly, disassembly and carrying along, and it is permissible for the operator to adjust the height at his will to suit his gesture.

[0011] To achieve the aforesaid object, the height-adjustable leisure chair of the invention mainly comprises a first post and a second post. The first post is composed of a sleeve tube with a plurality of legs. The second post also has a sleeve tube, which is permissible to be risen and lowered in the first post with a pivot brace and a plurality of connecting rods for holding the seat and the seatback of the chair. A quick-action clamp lock is fixed on the sleeve tube, which is convenient for the operator to rise or lower the second post within the first post and adjust the height of the chair or pull out of the first post as is disassembled to attain the pre-planned object.

[0012] The drawings disclose an illustrative embodiment of the present invention, which serves to exemplify the various advantages and objects thereof, but imposes no limitation.

[0013] The features and merits of the present invention are explained in great detail with the aid of the embodiments as illustrated in the following drawings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0021] As shown in FIGS. 2 through 7, the height-adjustable leisure chair provided in the invention is especially light in weight, compact in structure, easy for assembly, disassembly and carrying along, and it is permissible to adjust the height to practicably suit personal sitting gestures. It mainly comprises a first post 1, a second post 2, a quick-action clamp lock 3, a seat 4 and a seatback 5.

[0022] The first post 1 has a sleeve tube 10 (as shown in FIG. 2) with pivot braces 100 and legs 11 to form a stable base standing on the ground. The sleeve tube 10 provides a slot 101 and holes 102 on the upper portion, and the holes 102 receives two flanges 104 of a C-ring 103 and a presser 105 (as shown in FIG. 3.)

[0023] The second post 2 also has a sleeve tube 20 which has a diameter small than that of the sleeve tube 10 of the first post 1 and is allowed to slide in and out of the sleeve tube 10. The sleeve tube 20 is furnished with a pivot brace 200 on the top and a plurality of connecting rods 21 spread at equal angles from the periphery of the pivot brace 200. The sleeve tube 20 is drilled with a straight line of small holes 202, which correspond to the coordinate of the hole 102 on the sleeve tube 10 (as shown in FIG. 4.) The holes 202 also allow the flange 104 of the C-ring 103 to pierce through (as shown in FIG. 5,) so the second post 2 can be freely risen and lowered within the first post 1. The far ends of the connecting rods 21 extend and insert into the pocket 40 at each corner of the seat 4 (as shown in FIG. 2), so the seat 4 can be secured on the second post 2 on which the person sits.

[0024] In order to fasten the chair when the height is appropriately adjusted, a quick-actioned clamp lock 3 is fixed around the slot 101 of the sleeve tube 10 (as shown in FIG. 6.) In practice, the quick-actioned clamp lock 3 consists of a C-clamp 30, a bolt rod 31 and a quick-actioned wrench 32, wherein the C-clamp 30 surrounds the sleeve tube 10. Two extension ends of the C-clamp 30 are furnished with holes 300, allowing the bolt rod 31 to go through and lock the bolt rod 31 thereon by a nut 310. There is a quick-actioned wrench 32 on the far end of the bolt rod 31. The quick-actioned wrench 32 is joined to the C-clamp 30 by a lock pin 320, which locks the quick-actioned wrench 32 to the bolt rod 31. The quick-actioned wrench 32 has s first side wall 321 parallel to the quick-actioned wrench 32 and a second side wall 322 perpendicular to the wrench 32. The distance between the first side wall 321 and the lock pin 320 is greater than that between the second side wall 322 and the lock pin 320, so the quick-actioned wrench 32 acts as a cam effect against the C-clamp 30.

[0025] Now take the first post 1 out, spread the legs 11 on the ground. Pull the quick-actioned wrench 32 to the horizontal position in the manner that the second side wall 322 closely touches the C-clamp 30 and the bolt rod 31 is therefore released and pulled backward, forcing the C-clamp 30 to relax from the sleeve tube 10. At this moment, the flange 104 of the C-ring 103 expands and disengages from the hole 202 on the sleeve tube 20, allowing the sleeve tube 20 of the second post 2 to slide into the sleeve tube 10 of the first post 1, which can be freely risen or lowered as desired until an adequate height is obtained. When the quick-actioned wrench 32 is turned back to the upright position, the first side 321 will touch the C-clamp 30 and the bolt rod 31 is drawn to close the C-clamp 30, which holds the sleeve tube 20 steadfastly in place. The flange 104 of the C-ring 103 will pierce into the holes 202 on the sleeve tube 20 to fix it in fastened position.

[0026] The far end of the connecting rod 21 of the second post 2 provides a joint 51 (as shown in FIG. 7) to link with the frame post of the seatback 5. More comfort can be obtained when the seatback 5 is cushioned with a backrest 52.

[0027] Spread the connecting rod 21 widely apart to receive the seat 4 and fasten it on the joint 51 of the seatback 5, so the leisure chair of the invention is easily and quickly assembled as shown in FIG. 2. To obtain an adequate height of the chair to sit on (as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5), it is a simple action to pull up the quick-actioned wrench 32 and release the second post 2, and the sleeve tube 20 is free to be pulled out of the sleeve tube 10. Similarly, close up the legs 11 to the first post 1 and the connecting rod 21 to the second post 2, now it can be in a small package ready for carrying by hand and transporting by car.

[0028] In addition, to avoid a central over sink of the seat 4 due to the deformation of each connecting rod 21 of the second post 2, a lock pin 201 and a support platter 22 are fastened through the hole 220 on the sleeve tube 20 (as shown in FIG. 3.) The platter 22 has two slots 221 cut on each side. When the second post 2 is being inserted into the first post 1, rotate the platter 22 to align the lock pin 201 with the slot 221, so the platter 22 can pass the lock pin 201 till the proper position, then rotate the platter 22 again to ensure that the lock pin 201 holds the platter 22 in place without sliding down. This device prevents the deformation likely to occur on the connecting rod 21.

[0029] The product provided in the invention cherishes remarkable utilization, novelty and technical advance. The creative construction of the invention has neither been exposed to the public, nor in the furniture magazines. The product of the invention exactly complies with the patent requirements and is justified for a favorable approval of a patent certificate.

[0030] Many changes and modifications in the above disclosed embodiment of the invention can, of course, be carried out without departing from the scope thereof. Accordingly, to promote the progress in science and the useful arts, the invention is disclosed and is intended to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.

Claims

1. A height-adjustable leisure chair comprising

a first post having a sleeve tube with a plurality of pivot braces and legs, wherein the sleeve tube has an extended slot;
a second post having a sleeve tube with a smaller diameter than that of a first post and allowed to be inserted into the sleeve tube of the first post and a plurality of connecting rods on a top end of the sleeve tube of the second post, wherein the sleeve tube of the second post is allowed to be risen and lowered in the first post and pulled out of it;
a quick-action clamp lock, which is moveable and disposed on the slot of a first post and can hold or release the sleeve tube of the first post to fix or loose the sleeve tube of the second post;
a seat, which is disposed on the second posts and supported by the spread connected rods of the second post by the spread connecting rods of the second post; and
a seatback, which is pivotally joined with the connecting rods of the second post.

2. The height-adjustable leisure chair of claim 1, wherein the sleeve tube of the first post installed a C-ring with two flanges.

3. The height-adjustable leisure chair of claim 2, wherein the sleeve tube of the second post providing a plurality of holes to receive the flanges of the C-ring.

4. The height-adjustable leisure chair of claim 1, wherein the sleeve tube of the second post is disposed a platter adjacent to the connecting rods.

5. The height-adjustable leisure chair of claim 4, wherein the sleeve tube of the second post provides a lock pin adjacent to the connecting rods, and the platter forms a hole having two opposite sides respectively defining a slot.

The height-adjustable leisure chair of claim 1, wherein the quick-action lock clamp comprises a C-clamp, a bolt rod and a quick-actioned wrench, the C-clamp has a hole drilled in each extension end to receive the bolt rod with a nut to fix the bolt rod at one end, a pin vertically pierces through to join the quick-actioned wrench and the bolt rod together, the quick-actioned wrench has a first side wall and a second side wall, where the distance varies from the pin to the first and the second side walls.

7. The height-adjustable leisure chair of claim 1, wherein the seat has a pocket at each corner to receive the corresponding connecting rod of the second post.
