DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawings, a carrying case for portable electronic equipment and accessories thereof according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. The carrying case comprises case body 10 having a first wall 11 and a second wall 12 to define a storage compartment 101 therebetween for receiving the portable electronic equipment and accessories thereof.

[0022] The first wall 11 has a top panel 113, a front panel 114, a base panel 115, a first connecting edge 112 defined at a longitudinal edge of the base panel 115. The second wall 12 has a back panel 123, two side panels 124, 125, and a second connecting edge 122 defined at a longitudinal edge of the back panel, wherein the first connecting edge 112 of the first wall 11 is firmly attached to the second connecting edge 122 of the second wall 12 in an edge to edge manner.

[0023] The carrying case further comprises an elongated window opening 21 provided on the first wall 11 for communicating the storage compartment 101 to an exterior of the case body 10, a cover panel 22 is extended from the first connecting edge 112 of the first wall 11 in an edge to edge manner for enclosing the window opening 21, and a fastening unit 30 for selectively fastening the first wall 11 to the second wall 12 in an edge to edge manner, so as to enclose the storage compartment 101 of the case body 10.

[0024] According to the preferred embodiment, the first wall 11 further has a surrounding edge 111 and the second wall 12 further has an encircling edge 121 wherein the fastening unit 30 is arranged to selectively fasten the surrounding edge 111 of the first wall 11 to the encircling edge 121 of the second wall 12.

[0025] The first wall 11 is tri-folded to form the top panel 113, the front panel 114, and the base panel 115 wherein the surrounding edge 111 is defined at edges of the top panel 113, front panel 114, and two side edges of the base panel 115. The first wall 11 further comprises a handle 116 formed on an outer side of the top panel 113 for a user to carry the case body 10.

[0026] The second wall 12 is tri-folded to form the back panel 123 and the two side panels 124, 125 wherein the encircling edge 123 is defined at edges of the two side panels 124, 125 and two side edges of the back panel 123. In other words, the respective longitudinal edge of the back panel 123 is firmly connected to the respective longitudinal edge of the base panel 115 to connect the first wall 11 with the second wall 12.

[0027] As shown in FIG. 3, the window opening 21 provided on the base panel 115 from one side end to another side end thereof for communicating the storage compartment 101 of the case body 10 to the exterior thereof.

[0028] The carrying case further comprises an attaching unit 23 for securely attaching the cover panel 22 to the base panel 115 so as to enclose the window opening 21 wherein the attaching unit 23 comprises at least a first attaching element 231 provided on an outer side the base panel 115 along edges of the window opening 21 and at least a corresponding second attaching element 232 provide on an inner side of the cover panel 22 such that the cover panel 22 is adapted to securely attached on the base panel 115 by attaching the second attaching element 232 to the first attaching element 231. Accordingly, the first and second attaching elements 231, 232 are pair of hoop and loop fasteners attached on the base panel 115 and the cover panel 22 by stitching respectively.

[0029] Therefore, the carrying case can be formed as a play station for supporting and protecting the portable electronic equipment while it is in use. Thus, the accessories, such as joysticks, can be externally connected to the portable electronic equipment which is disposed in the storage compartment 101 through the window opening 21 and the top panel 113, as shown in FIG. 4. Practically, the portable electronic equipment comprises a disc tray and outlets provided at a rear side of the portable electronic equipment. Therefore, when the portable electronic equipment is received in the storage compartment 101, the disc tray can be ejected through the top panel 113, and the portable electronic equipment can be connected to a TV through the window opening 21. In other words, the user does not need to take out the portable electronic equipment from the case body 10 in order to connect with the accessories.

[0030] The fastening device 30 comprises a first half zipper 31 firmly attached to the surrounding edge 111 of the first wall 11, a second half zipper 32 firmly attached to the encircling edge 121 of the second wall 12, and at least a zip locker 33 arranged to slidably engage and disengage the first half zipper 31 with the second half zipper 32.

[0031] The fastening device 30 further comprises two stoppers 34 securely mounted between the first and second half zippers 31, 32 for maintaining two end portions of the first and second half zippers 31, 32 in an engaging manner. In other words, the two stoppers 34 limit the sliding movement of the zip locker 33 to disengage the two end portions of the first and second half zippers 31, 32, so as to prevent the first wall 11 in fully opening position with respect to the second wall 12.

[0032] The carrying case further comprises an inclined support arrangement 40 comprises a pair of elongated elements 41, each having a predetermined length, spacedly extended from two edge portions of the front panel 114 to the two side panels 124, 125 so as to retain the case body 10 from a closed position to an inclinedly opened position. In the closed position as shown in FIG. 1, the first wall 11 is attached to the second wall 12 to enclose the storage compartment 101, and in the inclinedly opened position as shown in FIG. 2, the front panel 114 is inclinedly folded up with respect to the back panel 123.

[0033] Accordingly, the inclined supporting arrangement 40 further comprises a pair of ring-shaped holders 42 attached to two outer sides of the two side panels 124, 125 respectively wherein each of the elongated elements 41, which is a strap, has one end securely attached to an inner side of the front panel 114 and a hook-like connector 411 provided on another end of the elongated element adapted for mounting on the respective holder 42, so as to maintain an inclined angle between the front panel 114 and the back panel 123 in the inclinedly opened position, as shown in FIG. 4. It is worth to mention that the inclined angle should be an obtuse angle to prevent the front panel 114 folding back to enclose the storage compartment 101 accidentally.

[0034] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the carrying case further comprises at least an accessory pocket 50 for placing accessories including compact disc, and an auxiliary pack body 60 for storing accessories having a bigger size such as joysticks and electric cords.

[0035] The accessory pocket 50 is formed on the inner side of the front panel 114 wherein the accessory pocket 50 comprises a pocket flap 51 having three edges attaching on the front panel 114 and a plurality of disc holding flaps 52 having three edges overlappedly attaching on the pocket flap 51 respectively for compact discs inserting from free edges of the disc holding flaps 52 respectively.

[0036] The auxiliary pocket 50 is formed on an outer side of the front panel 114 wherein a zipper 51 is encirclingly provided at on opening of the auxiliary pocket 50 for securely closing the auxiliary pocket 50 so as to securely place the accessories inside the auxiliary pocket 50.

[0037] As shown in FIG. 2, the carrying case further comprises a first and second holding straps 61, 62 each having a fixed end extended from a side edge of the back panel 123 and a pair of hoop and loop fasteners 63, 64 provided on two free end portions of the first and second holding straps 61, 62 for holding the portable electronic equipment in the storage compartment 101 in position by adjustably attaching the first and second holding straps 61, 62 together.

[0038] While the foregoing description and drawings describe the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it should be appreciated that certain obvious modifications, variations and substitutions may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. For example, it is obvious that the carrying case of the present invention can be used as a computer bag for carrying a laptop wherein computer accessories can be externally connected to the laptop through the window opening.
