Cosmetic pad

A cosmetic pad includes upper and lower pad bodies, each of which has a front edge, a rear edge, and two lateral sections. The two lateral sections extend in the longitudinal direction between the front and rear edges, and are opposite to each other in a transverse direction. The upper pad body is superimposed on the lower pad body. Each of the lateral sections of the upper pad body is connected to a respective one of the lateral sections of the lower pad body so as to form a finger hole between the upper and lower pad bodies. Front and rear openings are defined by the front edges and the rear edges of the upper and lower pad bodies to permit at least one finger to extend into the finger hole.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The invention relates to a cosmetic pad, more particularly to a cosmetic pad having a finger hole to facilitate applying or removing of make-up.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional cosmetic pad 1 is shown to be clamped between the fingers 21 on one hand 2 of the user. The conventional cosmetic pad 1 is made from a water-absorbent soft material, and is formed as a flat pad body 10. The pad body 10 has upper and lower pad surfaces 11, 12. Each of the upper and lower pad surfaces 11, 12 is divided into two opposite lateral sections 112, 122 and a middle section 111, 121 between the opposite lateral sections 112, 122.

[0005] In use, the user generally uses the forefinger 211 and the little finger 212 to clamp the cosmetic pad 1 against the middle finger 213 and the ring finger 214 of the hand 2. Thereafter, since the lateral sections 112, 122 are clamped by the fingers 21, only the middle section 111 of the upper pad surface 11 can be brought into contact with the skin of the user for applying or removing make-up. Furthermore, the fingers 21 have to exert a sufficient amount of force to clamp the cosmetic pad 1 firmly so as to prevent the latter from falling or loosening when applying or removing make-up. As such, the conventional cosmetic pad 1 is inconvenient to use. Moreover, when the hand 2 is dirty, only one of the middle sections 111, 121 of the upper and lower pad surfaces 11, 12 can be used for applying or removing make-up, thereby limiting the area of the cosmetic pad 1 that can be used. Additionally, the cosmetic pad 1 has no tips that are suitable for applying or removing make-up at small facial areas, such as the corners of the eyes and the surrounding area of the lips.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Therefore, the main object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pad that is capable of overcoming the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art.

[0007] Accordingly, a cosmetic pad of this invention is made from a water-absorbent soft material, and comprises upper and lower pad bodies. Each of the upper and lower pad bodies has a front edge, a rear edge, and two lateral sections. The rear edge is opposite to the front edge in a longitudinal direction. The two lateral sections extend in the longitudinal direction between the front and rear edges, and are opposite to each other in a transverse direction that is transverse to the longitudinal direction.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:

[0009] FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating how a conventional cosmetic pad is used;

[0010] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the first preferred embodiment of a cosmetic pad according to the present invention;

[0011] FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating how the cosmetic pad of FIG. 2 is used; and

[0012] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the second preferred embodiment of a cosmetic pad according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0013] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the first preferred embodiment of a cosmetic pad 3 according to the present invention is shown to comprise upper and lower pad bodies 32, 33, and is made from a water-absorbent soft material, such as non-woven cloth and rayon. The upper pad body 32 is superimposed on the lower pad body 33. Each of the upper and lower pad bodies 32, 33 has a front edge 321, 331, a rear edge 322, 332, and two lateral sections 323, 324, 333, 334. The rear edge 322, 332 is opposite to the front edge 321, 331 in a longitudinal direction. The two lateral sections 323, 324, 333, 334 extend in the longitudinal direction between the front and rear edges 321, 331, 322, 332, and are opposite to each other in a transverse direction that is transverse to the longitudinal direction. Each of the lateral sections 323, 324, 333, 334 has a distal lateral edge 325, 326, 335, 336. The lateral sections 323, 324 of the upper pad body 32 are connected respectively to the lateral sections 333, 334 of the lower pad body 33 in a conventional manner. In this embodiment, first and second stitch seams 34, 35 extend in the longitudinal direction, and connect the lateral sections 323, 324 of the upper pad body 32 to the lateral sections 333, 334 of the lower pad body 33 so as to form a finger hole 31 between the upper and lower pad bodies 32, 33. The first stitch seam 34 is spaced apart from the distal lateral edges 325, 335 of one of the lateral sections 323, 324 of the upper pad body 32 and the respective one of the lateral sections 333, 334 of the lower pad body 33. The second stitch seam 35 is spaced apart from the distal lateral edges 326, 336 of the other of the lateral sections 323, 324 of the upper pad body 32 and the respective one of the lateral sections 333, 334 of the lower pad body 33. The pair of the front edges 321, 331 and the pair of the rear edges 322, 332 of the upper and lower pad bodies 32, 33 cooperatively define front and rear openings 36, 37, respectively. At least one finger 41 of a hand 4 can be extended into the finger hole 31 via the first opening 36 and out of the finger hole 31 via the second opening 37.

[0014] In use, the cosmetic pad 3 is slipped onto at least one of the fingers 41 of the user when applying or removing make-up. Since the cosmetic pad 3 is slipped and not clamped on the fingers 41 as is usually required when using the conventional cosmetic pad 1, both sides of the cosmetic pad 3 can be used even if the hand 4 is dirty. Moreover, the applicable area of the cosmetic pad 3 is increased to be as wide as possible. Furthermore, the four corners 38 of the cosmetic pad 3 could be used for applying or removing make-up at small facial areas, such as the corners of the eyes and the surrounding area of the lips.

[0015] Referring to FIG. 4, the second preferred embodiment of a cosmetic pad 5 according to the present invention is shown to be substantially similar in construction to the first preferred embodiment. In this embodiment, the other of the lateral sections 523, 524 of the upper pad body 52 is connected foldably to and extends integrally from the respective one of the lateral sections 533, 534 of the lower pad body 53, such that only one stitch seam 53 is used to connect one of the lateral sections 523, 524 of the upper pad body 52 to the respective one of the lateral sections 533, 534 of the lower pad body 53. Thus, the cosmetic pad 5 of this embodiment does not only possess the advantages attributed to the aforementioned cosmetic pad 3, but is also easier to fabricate to result in time and cost savings.

[0016] While the present invention has been described in connection with what is considered the most practical and preferred embodiments, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
