Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a storage rack and, more particularly, to a folding collapsible storage rack.

[0002] Conventional storage racks, for example, clothes racks, bookracks, CD racks, or shoe racks are not collapsible. These racks occupy much storage space when not in use. In order to eliminate this problem, detachable storage racks are developed. When detaching these detachable storage racks, the parts must be separated from one another.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] It is one object of the present invention to provide a storage rack, which is folding collapsible. It is another object of the present invention to provide a folding collapsible storage rack, which can be folded up and set in a flat manner without detaching the parts thereof. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a folding collapsible storage rack, which can be used for different purposes to keep different things. According to the present invention, the folding collapsible storage rack comprises a vertical rectangular back frame, two vertical side frames respectively hinged to two opposite long sides of the back frame, a plurality of bearing members respectively pivoted to the back frame at different elevations, and a plurality of angle fittings respectively fixedly fastened to the side frames at different elevations and adapted to support the bearing members in horizontal for keeping things after the side frames have been turned outwards from the back frame to an extended position. In one embodiment of the present invention, the bearing members are rectangular open frames adapted to support clothes bag for holding dirty clothes. In another embodiment of the present invention, the bearing members are solid rectangular plates adapted to hold CDs, books, shoes, etc.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0004] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a folding collapsible storage rack according to the present invention showing the side frames set in the extended position and the bearing frames set in the received position.

[0005] FIG. 2 shows the folding collapsible storage rack set in the extended operative position for the mounting of clothes bags.

[0006] FIG. 3 shows clothes bags suspended in the top bearing frame of the folding collapsible storage rack according to the present invention.

[0007] FIG. 4 shows the folding collapsible storage rack collapsed according to the present invention.

[0008] FIG. 5 shows an application example of an alternate form of the folding collapsible storage rack according to the present invention.

[0009] FIG. 6 shows another application example of the alternate form of the folding collapsible storage rack according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0010] Referring to FIG. 1, a folding collapsible storage rack in accordance with the present invention comprises a back frame 1, two side frames 2, and a plurality of bearing frames 3. The back frame 1 is a rectangular open frame. The side frames 2 are rectangular frames hinged to two opposite long sides of the back frame 1 by hinges 12, and can be turned relative to the back frame 1 between the received position where the side frames 2 are closely attached to the back frame 1 (see FIG. 4) and the extended position where the side frames 2 are held perpendicular to the back frame 1 (see FIG. 1). The side frames 2 each comprise a plurality of angle fittings 21 vertically aligned alone one long side thereof remote from the back frame 1. The angle fittings 21 each have a locating hole 211. The bearing frames 3 are rectangular open frames respectively pivoted to the back frame 1 at different elevations by pivots 11, each having two locating plates 31 in two corners thereof remote from the back frame 1. The locating plates 31 each have a positioning pin 311. The bearing frames 3 can be turned relative to the back frame 1 between the received position where the bearing frames 3 are closely attached to the back frame 1 (see FIG. 1) and the extended position where the bearing frames 3 are held perpendicular to the back frame 1 and respectively supported on the angle fittings 21 of the side frames 2 (see FIG. 3).

[0011] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, when extended out the side frames 2 and the bearing frames 3, the positioning pins 311 of the locating plates 31 of the bearing frames 3 are respectively engaged into the locating hole 211 of each of the angle fittings 21 of the side frames 2, holding the folding collapsible storage rack in the extended operative position. Thus, the suspension rods 41 of clothes bags 4 can be hung on the bearing frames 3, keeping the clothes bags 4 suspended from the bearing frames 3 for keeping dirty clothes.

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 1, when not in use, the bearing frames 3 are disengaged from the angle fittings 21 of the side frames 2 and closely attached to the back frame 1, and then the side frames 2 are respectively turned inwards and closely attached to the bearing frames 3 at the back frame 1.

[0013] FIGS. 5 and 6 show an alternate form of the present invention. According to this alternate form, solid rectangular plates 3A are used instead of the aforesaid bearing frames 3. When set in the extended position, CDs 5, books 6, or any of a variety of small items can be kept on the solid rectangular plates 3A.

[0014] It is to be understood that the drawings are designed for purposes of illustration only, and are not intended for use as a definition of the limits and scope of the invention disclosed.
