Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a shelf device, and more particularly to a hangable shelf device for supporting compact discs or bottles or the like.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Typical shelf devices for compact discs (CD) may be used for receiving and storing the CDs only, and may not be used for supporting the bottles of such as the wine. Relatively, the typical shelf devices for bottles of such as the wine may be used for receiving and storing the bottles only, and may not be used for supporting the CDs.

[0005] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional shelf devices.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a hangable shelf device for supporting CDs or bottles or the like.

[0007] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a shelf device comprising two or more lazy tong constructions each including a plurality of links pivotally coupled together with pivot pins, and one or more rods coupled between the lazy tong constructions, for coupling the lazy tong constructions together and for allowing the lazy tong constructions to be folded and expanded in concert with each other. The links may include different lengths, and may be arranged and coupled together to form various kinds of shapes or configuration, for supporting CDs or bottles or the other objects therein when the lazy tong constructions are expanded to the expanded structure or configuration.

[0008] The rods each includes two ends each having a fastener provided thereon and engaged through the lazy tong constructions for coupling the lazy tong constructions together.

[0009] One or more loops may further be provided and coupled to the fastener for hanging purposes or for hanging the shelf device to supporting walls or the like.

[0010] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of a detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0011] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shelf device in accordance with the present invention;

[0012] FIGS. 2, 3, 4, 5 are perspective views illustrating the other embodiments of the shelf device;

[0013] FIG. 6 is a partial exploded view of the shelf device; and

[0014] FIGS. 7, 8, 9, 10 are plan views illustrating the operation of the shelf device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0015] Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIG. 1, a shelf device in accordance with the present invention comprises two or more further lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 disposed parallel to each other and each including a number of connecting links 21, 22, 23 pivotally coupled or secured together at the connecting or coupling portions with pivot pins 24, rivets, fasteners or the like. The connecting links 23 (FIGS. 2, 3) are the longer links having a length three times of that of the shortest connecting links 21, and the connecting links 22 include a length two times of that of the shortest connecting links 21. The connecting links 21, 22, 23 of the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 may be arranged to various kinds of shapes or configurations as shown in FIGS. 1-6.

[0016] Two or more rods 30 are coupled between every two adjacent lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200, and each includes two ends each having a bolt or a fastener 31 (FIG. 6 extended outward therefrom or attached thereto. The fasteners 31 of the rods 30 are engaged through the orifices 26 of some of the connecting or coupling portions of the connecting links 21, 22, 23 of the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 and threaded with or engaged with the lock nuts 32 or the like, for pivotally securing the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 together, and for allowing the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 to be folded and expanded together or in concert with each other.

[0017] For example, the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 may be arranged and expanded to various kinds of shapes or configurations as shown in FIGS. 1-8, for supporting the CDs 40 (FIGS. 7, 8) and/or the bottles 50 (FIG. 3) therein. The distances between the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 are shorter than the width or the length of the CDs 40, for allowing the CDs 40 to be stably supported in the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200. As shown in FIGS. 9 and 10. the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 may also be folded to the compact configuration which is excellent for storing and transportation purposes. One or more rings, or hooks or loops 33 or the like may further be provided and coupled to the rods 30 or the fasteners 31 or the lock nuts 32, for hanging purposes, and for allowing the shelf device to be hung onto the walls or the like.

[0018] In operation, as shown in FIGS. 3, 7 and 8, the lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 may be expanded to various kinds of configurations or shapes or structures for receiving or supporting the CDs 40 and/or the bottles 50 therein. The lazy tong constructions 2, 20, 200 may also be folded to the compact configuration for storing or transportation purposes.

[0019] Accordingly, the hangable shelf device in accordance with the present invention may be used for supporting CDs or bottles or the like.

[0020] Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
