Lubricating arrangement for rotary device

A lubricating arrangement for rotary device having an internal rotating member. The arrangement comprising a sleeve put on rotating member; at least one inlet in sleeve, being perpendicular to rotating member, and having one end adjacent rotating member and the other end open to reservoir; at least one outlet in sleeve, being perpendicular to rotating member, and having one end adjacent rotating member and the other end open to reservoir; and a plurality of auxiliary outlets in sleeve and each having one end adjacent rotating member and the other end open to reservoir. Preferably, each auxiliary outlet is at an angle about 0° to about 30° with respect to an axis perpendicular to rotating member.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to lubricating arrangement and more particularly to a lubricating arrangement for rotary device with improved characteristics.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional rotary device comprises an internal rotating member, a sleeve put on rotating member near one end, at least one inlet, and at least one outlet. Both of inlet and outlet are in sleeve and are perpendicular to rotating member. Also, each of inlet and outlet has one end adjacent rotating member. In rotation of the rotary device, in addition to the high pressure lubricating oil, a force is generated for sucking lubricating oil from inlet to outlet through a gap between rotating member and sleeve. As a result, the rotary device may be lubricated.

[0003] However, the prior art suffered from a disadvantage. For example, the arrangement of inlet and outlet does not facilitate lubricating oil to return to outlet after lubrication. This has a drawback such as lubricating oil flowed to external surface of rotary device. Hence, the rotary device is dirty, heat dissipation of the rotary device is hindered, and useful life of rotary device is lowered. Thus improvement exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a lubricating arrangement for rotary device having an internal rotating member. The arrangement comprising a sleeve put on the rotating member; a reservoir; at least one inlet in the sleeve, being perpendicular to the rotating member, and having one end adjacent the rotating member and the other end open to the reservoir; at least one outlet in the sleeve, being perpendicular to the rotating member, and having one end adjacent the rotating member and the other end open to the reservoir; and a plurality of auxiliary outlets in the sleeve and each having one end adjacent the rotating member and the other end open to the reservoir; wherein each of the auxiliary outlets is at an angle with respect to an axis perpendicular to the rotating member.

[0005] In one aspect of the present invention, each of the auxiliary outlets is at an angle about 0° to about 30° with respect to an axis perpendicular to the rotating member. The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0006] FIG. 1 is a side view in part section of a preferred embodiment of rotary device according to the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0007] Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a rotary device 30 constructed in accordance with the invention comprising an internal rotating member 31, a sleeve 32 put on the rotating member 31 near one end, at least one inlet 33, and at least one outlet 34. Both of inlet 33 and outlet 34 are in sleeve 32 and are perpendicular to the rotating member 31. Also, each of inlet 33 and outlet 34 has one end adjacent rotating member 31 and the other end open to reservoir 36. Most importantly, a plurality of auxiliary outlets 35 are formed in sleeve 32. Similarly, each of auxiliary outlets 35 has one end adjacent rotating member 31 and the other end open to reservoir 36. Preferably, each auxiliary outlet 35 is at an angle about 0° about 30° with respect to an axis perpendicular to rotating member 31 (e.g., inlet 33 or outlet 34) as viewed in FIG. 1. In rotation of the rotary device, in addition to the high pressure lubricating oil and suction force, lubricating oil may generally completely return to outlet 34 after sucked from inlet 33 and through a gap between rotating member 31 and sleeve 32 in a lubrication cycle. This is because auxiliary outlets 35 have guide effect in helping the return of lubricating oil. As a result, the rotary device can be fully lubricated.

[0008] While the invention has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.
