[0017] FIG. 4 is a schematic side view illustrating use of the support device for kneel-down work in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT[0018] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a support device for kneel-down work in accordance with the present invention generally comprises two spaced support members 1 having a distance greater than a width of a leg of a user, a knee plate 3, a first strap 5, a seat frame 2, and a second strap 4. Each support member 1 comprises an end plate 11 and an extension member 12. The extension member 12 includes a first end securely connected to the end plate 11 and a second end 121.
[0019] The knee plate 3 comprises a pad 31 mounted thereon. In addition, the knee plate 3 comprises an end pivotally connected to the second end 121 of the extension member 12 of each support member 1. In this embodiment, the knee plate 3 has a hole or slot 32 in each of two sides thereof, and a screw (not labeled) is extended through the slot 32 and a hole 122 in the second end 121 of the associated extension member 12 and then engaged with a nut (not labeled).
[0020] The first strap 5 has two ends attached to the sides of the knee plate 3. In this embodiment, each side of the knee plate 3 includes a peg 33, and each end of the first strap 5 includes a connecting piece 51 having an engaging hole 511 for releasably engaging with the peg 33. Preferably, the first strap 5 is adjustable in a length thereof.
[0021] The seat frame 2 comprises a seat 21 and two parallel connecting plates 22 respectively extending from a side of the seat 21. Each connecting plate 22 is pivotally connected to an associated one of the end plates 11. In this embodiment, a pad 211 is mounted on the other side of the seat 21. In addition, each end plate 11 comprises a plurality of spaced first engaging holes 112, and each connecting plate 22 of the seat frame 2 comprises a plurality of spaced second engaging holes 221. At least one screw (not labeled) extends through at least one of the spaced first engaging holes 112 and at least one of the spaced second engaging holes 221 and then engaged with a nut (not labeled), thereby allowing each connecting plate 22 to be adjustably engaged with the associated one of the end plates 11 to suit users of different shank lengths.
[0022] The second strap 4 has two ends attached to the seat 21. In this embodiment, the seat 21 comprises two pegs 23 respectively formed on two sides thereof. The second strap 4 comprises two ends each including an engaging piece 41 having an engaging hole 411 for releasably engaging with an associated one of the pegs 23 of the seat 21. Preferably, the second strap 4 is adjustable in a length thereof.
[0023] As illustrated in FIG. 3, the first strap 5 is mounted around an upper portion of a shank of the user, and the second strap 4 is mounted around a lower portion of the shank of the user. The shank of the user is located between the extension members 12 and between the connecting plates 22. As illustrated in FIG. 4, the knee plate 3 and the end plates 11 are in contact with the ground and the seat 21 provides a support for a hip of the user when a leg of the user wearing the support device kneels down. The pad 31 of the kneel plate 3 provides a comfort support for the knee of the user, and the pad 211 on the seat 21 provides a comfort support for the hip of the user. Thus, by means of provision of the support for a worker in accordance with the present invention, when kneeling down to work, sore and pain in the legs and knees of the user is prevented. Also, the pants of the user is prevented from becoming dirty and/or wearing out as a result of being in contact with the ground.
[0024] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
