Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention relates generally to the field of writing implements, and more particularly to a breath Spray Pen.

[0002] Various types of writing implements have been in use for hundreds of years. More recently, self contained writing pens have become widely available to the public. Additionally, in recent years, a type of breath spray product has become popular that is contained within a pressurized cylindrical cannister.

[0003] Currently, people store the breath spray products, such as the unit manufactured by Binnaca, in a pocket or purse. Pens are also stored in pocket or purse. Although pens traditionally have a pocket retaining clip to help hold a pen in a person's shirt pocket. Breath spray products have no such clips. Additionally, having both a pen and a breath spray product in ones pocket takes up additional room in a pocket as opposed to a single product that comprises both a pen and a breath spray product. Finally, men tend not to carry a purse or other carrying case and therefore must resort to carrying a breath spray cannister product in their pants pocket. The bulk of such a product can prove to be a hindrance to leg movement and can also create an unsightly bulge in the owner's pants.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The primary object of the invention is to provide a writing utensil such as a pen that has a built in reservoir that can accommodate a standard breath spray cannister.

[0005] Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.

[0006] Breath Spray Pen comprising: a hollow cylindrical shaped housing that tapers at one end and is open ended at the opposite end, said tapered end terminating in a pen writing tip, said pen having an ink retaining barrel that is held within said cylindrical housing, said cylinder open end capable of receiving and retaining a standard breath spray cannister, said breath spray cannister having a spray tip that is exposed at the top of said cylindrical housing, a mating cover interacts with said housing open end that encloses and protects said spray tip, a mating cover interacts with said opposite end of said housing that encloses and protects said pen tip, and a retaining clip that is attached to the outside of said housing so that a person can secure said breath spray pen to his or her shirt pocket.

[0007] The drawings constitute a part of this specification and include exemplary embodiments to the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. It is to be understood that in some instances various aspects of the invention may be shown exaggerated or enlarged to facilitate an understanding of the invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] FIG. 1 is an exploded view of the breath spray pen of the present invention

[0009] FIG. 2 is a side section view of the present invention

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0010] Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.

[0011] Referring now to FIG. 1 we see an exploded view of the present invention 100. A cylindrical shaped housing 10 retains a breath spray cannister 8 such as the one made Binnaca Corp. The cannister 8 slides into the top end 13 of housing 10. The opposite end of housing 10 is tapered 11 and retains a pen tip 4. Pen cap 2 slides and snaps onto barrel portion 15 of housing 10. Spray head 14 protrudes from the top of housing 10 and is ;made available to the user by removal of cap 12. Resilient clip 16 acts to hold the present invention securely in a persons shirt pocket.

[0012] FIG. 2 shows a side section view of the present invention 100. cannister 8 can be seen residing in the hollow portion of housing 10. Pen ink reservoir 6 can be seen as it resides in the lower portion of housing 10. Separator wall 20 acts as a seat for cannister 8 and separates it from ink reservoir 6.

[0013] In the above described and illustrated way, a person can carry a pen and a breath spray product simultaneously. The breath spray product can be easily gotten to without the need to search in a pants pocket or purse.

[0014] While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
