BACKGROUND OF INVENTION[0002] 1. Field of the Invention
[0003] The present invention is a sound insulating device that is contrived to prevent or reduce noise from being transmitted from an upper floor to a lower floor, mainly in a multi-story or high-rise apartment building using concrete slab construction.
[0004] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0005] Generally, because a ceiling of a downstairs apartment is the floor of an upstairs apartment in a building using concrete slab construction as is common in multi-story, high-rise apartment buildings, noise that is created when an object hits an upstairs floor are delivered directly to a room directly downstairs.
[0006] In the past, many people suffered and felt inconvenience due to these noises.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION[0007] The present invention is a sound insulating device that is contrived to prevent the noise from being delivered from upstairs to downstairs, particularly in a multi-story or high-rise apartment building.
[0008] Because a ceiling in a downstairs apartment is the floor of an apartment above it, particularly when the building uses concrete slab construction in a high-rise apartment building, the noises that are created when an object hits on the upstairs floor are delivered directly to the downstairs room.
[0009] In the past, many people suffered and felt inconvenience due to these noises. The present invention is to solve this and other problems. A purpose of the present invention is to provide a sound insulating device for a building which can improve the efficiency of removing noise, by the following method: laminate an expanded resin plastic sheet (2) with fine pores like a sponge, a bulgy-and-hollow plate (3) with convex surfaces (301) and concave surfaces (302) which form a three dimensional undulating surface, and an expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) on the upper or lower surface of the concrete slabs (1) which make up stories of the building. The surface of the outermost expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) is plastered or coated with resilient materials such as plaster or mortar (4). In cases where the invention is employed in the upper surface of a concrete slab, the floor of a room is formed with the above-mentioned materials. With this construction, the some portion of noise is absorbed when it passes into the expanded resin plastic sheet (2′), and then the noise is further reduced when it moves in the space between convex surface (301) and concave surface (302) of the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3). Finally, the most of the rest if not all of the noise is absorbed when it passes into the expanded resin plastic sheet (2) again.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS[0010] The present invention will now be described by way of exemplary embodiments, to which it is not limited, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0011] FIG. 1 is a cross section of component parts in accordance with the present invention.
[0012] FIG. 2 is a prospective view of an exemplary embodiment of a bulgy-and-hollow plate 3 in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION[0013] As shown in the accompanying drawings, an exemplary embodiment is illustrated in cross-section of a building structure that includes a concrete slab 1 on which an expanded resin plastic sheet 2, a bulgy-and-hollow plate 3 with convex surfaces 301 and concave surfaces 302 to form a three dimensional undulating surface for example, a second expanded resin plastic sheet 2′ and mortar 4 or other rigid surface material are laminated.
[0014] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a sound insulating device of a building which can improve the efficiency of removing noise, by following methods: laminate the expanded resin plastic sheet (2) with fine pores as like sponge, the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3) with convex surface (301) and concave surface (302), and the expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) on the surface of every story's concrete slab (1) in order; to plaster the surface of the expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) with mortar(4); and then to make the floor of a room with the above mentioned materials. Thus, the some portion of noise is absorbed when it passes into the upper expanded resin plastic sheet (2′), and then the noise is further reduced when it moves in the air space between convex surface (301) and concave surface (302) of the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3). Finally, the rest or most of the rest of the noise is absorbed when it passes into the lower expanded resin plastic sheet (2).
[0015] As shown in FIG. 1, which is a cross section of some parts of the present invention, the present invention is made by the following process: laminate an upper expanded resin plastic sheet (2) which has fine pores as like sponge, the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3) with convex surfaces (301) and concave surfaces (302) to form a three dimensional undulating surface, and a lower expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) on an upper or lower surface of concrete slabs that form the various stories of a building. The outermost surface of the expanded resin plastic sheet (2′ or 2) is plastered with a resilient material such as mortar (4).
[0016] Of course, other elements such as a heating pipe 5 and surface applications 6 (e.g., paper lacquered with bean oil) can be included without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0017] Because the expanded resin plastic sheet (2) with fine pores like a sponge, the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3) with convex surfaces (301) and concave surfaces (302), and the expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) are laminated in order in the space between the mortar (4) and concrete slab (1) which consist the floor of a room, the noise created when an object hits on an upstairs floor or the noises by the other sound-producing machineries and tools are substantially reduced when they pass into the porous expanded resin plastic sheet (2′). And then, the noise are reduced again, when it moves into the space between the convex surfaces (301) and the concave surfaces (302) of the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3), as shown by the arrows in FIG. 2. Finally, the rest or most of the rest of the noise is further absorbed when it passes into the lower expanded resin plastic sheet (2). With this structure, the efficiency of sound insulation is improved greatly. It should be noted that the spaces between the resin plastic sheets (2) and (2′) can be air space, or other sound absorbing material. Some intrusion of adhesive, such as shown by the unnumbered material in the spaces, may also be present.
[0018] Therefore, most of the noise generated in an upstairs apartment or the like is not transmitted to an apartment immediately downstairs from it in a building such as an apartment house.
[0019] The effect of the present invention, as mentioned above, is to improve the efficiency of sound insulation because the floor of the room is improved by laminating the porous expanded resin plastic sheet (2), the bulgy-and-hollow plate (3), and the porous expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) on the concrete slab (1), and then by plastering the surface of the expanded resin plastic sheet (2′) with mortar (4) or the like. Although shown on the upper surface of the slab, the present invention can be used on the lower surface of the slab by employing suitable adhesives or other attachment mechanisms.
