Double-deck ski mounting structure

A double-deck ski mounting structure in which two shock-absorbing coupling structures are connected between a top deck board and a bottom deck board to hold the deck board in parallel, each shock-absorbing structure including a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate respectively fixedly fastened to the deck boards, and two shock absorbing pads sandwiched in between the deck boards and the mounting plates, the second mounting plate having a suspension arm pivoted to parallel bottom lugs of the first mounting plate by a pivot bolt.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a double-deck ski and, more particularly, to a double-deck ski mounting structure.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] FIGS. 3 and 4 show a double-deck ski mounting structure according to the prior art. According to this design, the double-deck ski mounting structure comprises a top deck board 21, a bottom deck board 22, and two coupling structures connected between the deck boards 21;22 near two distal ends. Each coupling structure comprises a first mounting plate 211 fixedly fastened to the bottom sidewall of the top deck board 21, a second mounting plate 221 fixedly fastened to the top sidewall of the bottom deck board 22 and coupled to the first mounting plate 211, and two rubber pads 214;224 respectively sandwiched in between the deck boards 21;22 and the mounting plates 214;224. The first mounting plate 211 comprises two downwardly extended bottom lugs 212, each lug 212 having a pivot hole 213. The second mounting plate 221 comprises two upwardly extended top lugs 222, each lug 222 having a pivot hole 223. A pivot bolt 225 is installed in the pivot holes 223 of the top lugs 222 and the pivot holes 213 of the bottom lugs 212 to pivotally connect the first mounting plate 211 to the second mounting plate 221. This double-deck mounting structure is still not satisfactory in function. Upon an impact during skiing, the first mounting plate 211 and the second mounting plate 221 are vertically acted against each other, causing the rubber pads 214;224 unable to absorb all shocks.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention has been accomplished to provide a double-deck ski mounting structure, which eliminates the aforesaid problem. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a double-deck ski mounting structure, which effectively absorbs shocks upon an impact during skiing. According to the present invention, the second mounting plate at the bottom deck board has a forwardly extended suspension arm pivoted to parallel bottom lugs of the first mounting plate at the top deck board. Upon an impact during skiing, the suspension arm lessens shocks, enabling the shock-absorbing pads that are sandwiched in between the deck boards and the mounting plates to absorb residual shocks.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0010] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a double-deck ski 1 is shown comprised of a top deck board 11 and a bottom deck board 12 arranged in parallel, and two shock-absorbing coupling structures connected between the top deck board 11 and the bottom deck board 12 near two distal ends. Each shock-absorbing coupling structure comprises a first mounting plate 111 fixedly fastened to the bottom sidewall of the top deck board 11 by screws, a second mounting plate 121 fixedly fastened to the top sidewall of the bottom deck board 12 by screws for connecting the bottom deck board 12 to the first mounting plate 111. Further, shock-absorbing pads 114;125 are respectively sandwiched in between the deck boards 11;12 and the mounting plates 111;121 for absorbing shocks. The first mounting plate 11 comprises two downward lugs 112 arranged in parallel. The lugs 112 each have a horizontal pivot hole 113. The second mounting plate 121 comprises a reinforcing rib 122 and a suspension arm 123 forwardly extended from the reinforcing rib 122 in direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bottom deck board 12. The suspension arm 123 has a pivot hole 124 transversely extended through the free end thereof and pivotally connected to the pivot holes 113 of the lugs 112 of the first mounting plate 111 by a pivot bolt 123.

[0011] Upon an impact during skiing, the suspension arm 123 and the shock-absorbing pads 114;125 of each shock-absorbing coupling structure absorb shocks.

[0012] While only one embodiment of the present invention has been shown and described, it will be understood that various modifications and changes could be made thereunto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention disclosed.

Claims

1. A double-deck ski mounting structure comprising a top deck board, a bottom deck board, and two shock-absorbing coupling structures connected between said top deck board and said bottom deck board near two distal ends, wherein said shock-absorbing coupling structures each comprise:

a first mounting plate fixedly fastened to a bottom sidewall of said top deck board, said first mounting plate comprising two downward lugs arranged in parallel, said lugs each having a horizontal pivot hole;
a second mounting plate fixedly fastened to a top sidewall of said bottom deck board by screws, said second mounting plate comprising a reinforcing rib and a suspension arm forwardly extended from said reinforcing rib, said suspension arm having a free end and a pivot hole in said free end;
pivot means installed in the pivot hole of said suspension arm and the pivot holes of the lugs of said first mounting plate to pivotally connect said second mounting plate to said first mounting plate;
a first shock-absorbing pad sandwiched in between said top deck board and said first mounting plate; and
a second shock-absorbing pad sandwiched in between said bottom deck board and said second mounting plate.
