Golf club with weight device

A golf club comprises a shaft, a head and a weight device. The shaft has a tip end, a butt end and a tunnel therein. The head is secured to the shaft at the tip end thereof. The weight device is installed in the tunnel of the shaft for free sliding. The weight device is changeable in shape, such as metal sands, metal balls and liquid etc., so that the center of gravity of the weight device can close to the tip end and the butt end of the shaft as possible when backswing and downswing.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention related to a golf club, and more particularly to a golf club with a weight device.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A golf club is improved for a golf player can hit the ball farther and accurately. Today, the golf club is designed to meet the physical power of individual player. So, a new golf club must have a smaller weight, a superior capacity to absorb vibration and to drive the ball father.

[0003] A conventional golf club provided with a bar member to increase the capacity of the golf club to hit the ball farther. The bar member has a long bar at an end thereof and a short bar at the other end thereof. The bar member is received in a shaft of the golf club for free sliding. The bar member will shift to the butt end of the shaft in backswing and will shift to the tip end of the shaft in downswing. Thus, the bar member will provide an extra momentum in downswing to make the golf club can hit the ball farther.

[0004] The aforesaid invention still can not make the bar member providing largest power in increasing momentum, because of the center of gravity of the bar member can not reach the tip end and the butt end of the shaft.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, which can hit a ball farther.

[0006] The second objective of the present invention is to provide a golf club, which has a simple structure and a lower cost to complete the primary objective.

[0007] According to the objectives of the present invention, a golf club comprises a shaft, a head and a weight device. The shaft has a tunnel therein. The head is secured to the shaft at an end thereof. The weight device is installed in the tunnel of the shaft for free sliding. The weight device is changeable in shape so that the center of gravity of the weight device can close to the opposite ends of the tunnel as possible when backswing and downswing.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0014] Please refer to FIG. 1, a golf club 10 of the first prefer embodiment of the present invention comprises a shaft 11, a head 12 and a weight device 16. The shaft 11 has a tip end where to secure the head 12 and a butt end where to mount a grip (not shown). The shaft 11 has a tunnel 15 therein in which install the weight device 16 for free sliding along the tunnel 15.

[0015] The weight device 16 of the first prefer embodiment is metal sands (such as iron sands). Each metal sand 16 is smaller than the diameter of the tunnel 15 of the shaft 11 along the cross-section thereof. The sands 16 will shift to the butt end of the shaft 11 in backswing and will shift to the tip end thereof in downswing. Because of the sands 16, similar to liquid, has no rigid shape so that the center of gravity of the sands 16 will close to the tip end and the butt end of the shaft 11 as possible when backswing and downswing. Thus, the shifting distance of the center of gravity of the sands 16 when downswing is larger than the prior did, in other words, the golf club 10 of the present invention will provide a larger momentum when downswing to hit the ball farther.

[0016] The advantages of the present invention are:

[0017] 1) The shifting distance of the center of gravity of the weight device 16 is larger than the prior art so that it can provide a larger momentum in downswing to hit the ball farther.

[0018] 2) The weight device 16 will shift to the butt end of the shaft 11 as possible in backswing to reduce the loading for the player to lift the head 12 and the weight device 16 will shift to the tip end of the shaft 11 as possible in downswing to increase the momentum of the head 12 for the hitting the ball farther.

[0019] 3) Because of the weight device 16 (the sands) has no rigid shape, it can close the tip end and the butt end of the shaft 11 as possible no matter what kind of the shape of the shaft 11.

[0020] FIG. 2 shows a golf club 20 of the second prefer embodiment of the present invention, which is similar to the first prefer embodiment, except that a weight device 26 is metal balls installed in a tunnel 25 of the shaft. The balls 26 may have different sizes but they are smaller than the any diameter of the tunnel 25 along the cross-section thereof. The function and the advantages of the golf club 20 of the second prefer embodiment are as same as the first prefer embodiment, so will not describe again.

[0021] FIG. 3 shows a golf club 30 of the third prefer embodiment of the present invention, which install liquid (such as water or mercury etc.) into the tunnel 35 to be a weight device 36. Of course, the tunnel 35 must be watertight.

[0022] FIG. 4 shows a golf club 40 of the fourth prefer embodiment of the present invention. A weight device 46 installed in a tunnel 45 is composed of a bag 461 and a weight member 462 received in the bag 461. The weight member 462 can be sands, balls or liquid as described in aforesaid prefer embodiments.

[0023] FIG. 5 shows a golf club 50 of the fifth prefer embodiment of the present invention, which provide two buffer members 57 at the opposite ends of a tunnel 55 respectively and a weight device 56 installed in the tunnel 55. The weight device 56 can be any type of the aforesaid prefer embodiments. The buffer members 57 are to reduce the impact when the weight device 56 hitting the tip end and the butt end of the shaft when backswing and downswing.

[0024] FIG. 6 shows a golf club 60 of the sixth prefer embodiment of the present invention which provides a weight device 66 installed in a tunnel 65. The weight device 66 is a block in this prefer embodiment having a size smaller than any diameter of the tunnel 65 along the cross-section thereof.

Claims

1. A golf club, comprising:

a shaft having a tunnel therein;
a head secured to a tip end of the shaft, and
a weight device installed in said tunnel of said shaft for free sliding;
said weight device is changeable in shape so that the center of gravity of said weight device can close to the opposite ends of said tunnel as possible when backswing and downswing.

2. The golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein said weight device is metal sands, each of which is smaller than any diameter of said tunnel in cross-section.

3. The golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein said weight device is metal balls, each of which is smaller than any diameter of said tunnel in cross-section.

4. The golf club as defined in claim 3, wherein said weight device is liquid.

5. The golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein said weight device is received in a bag which is installed in said tunnel.

6. The golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein said shaft is provided with two buffer members in said tunnel respectively at the opposite ends thereof.

7. A golf club, comprising:

a shaft having a tunnel therein;
a head secured to a tip end of the shaft, and
a weight device installed in said tunnel of said shaft for free sliding;
wherein said weight device has at least a block which is smaller than any diameter of said tunnel in cross-section.
