Space saving, pivotal, transportable, work table/bench and supports

This is space saving, pivotal, transportable, work table/bench consisting of a more or less rectangular shaped top secured to a wall or other vertical support via the upper pivotal attachment point of the two individual connection devices, of which each have two pivotal attachment points allowing them to be equally spaced and attached toward opposite ends on one of the long sides of the of table/bench top utilizing the upper most pivotal connection point while the linear top piece of the a-frame type support leg sets are attached to the bottom or lower pivotal connection points, thus allowing the supports to be pivoted to a horizontal position for use while the table/bench top is pivoted to a vertically or stored position, the supports can then pivoted to a horizontal position enabling the table/bench top to rest on them for use at that location or the table/bench top and/or the supports can separated from the pivotal connection and taken individually or as a unit to another location for use then upon completion be returned to the connection point and again secured for use at the original attachment location or pivoted to a vertical position for storage.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] This invention is directed to the field of full size space saving, wall mounted work table/bench for use at the normally stored location or taken from that position for use at any other location and then returned to the original location for further use or storage.

[0003] 2. Description of Prior Art

[0004] The current invention relates to a space saving, pivotal, transportable work table/bench that is attached to a wall or other vertical support, pivoted vertically for storage, pivoted horizontally for use either as supports only, as supports with a work table/bench top or separated from it's wall attachment and easily transported to any other location for use and again returned to it's original location for use or storage.

[0005] 3. Prior Art

[0006] Prior art lacks the versatility of the presented embodiment in all ways as follows.

[0007] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench in a mounted on the wall configuration

[0008] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench that is attached to the wall and allowed to pivot to a horizontal position for use while resting on supports.

[0009] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench having two independent supports that can be used independently from the table/bench top.

[0010] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench that can be separated from its' wall connection and taken to another location for use.

[0011] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench that can remain in the vertically stored position while the supports pivoted to a horizontal position for use at the secured location.

[0012] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench that can remain in the vertically stored position while the supports are separated from the wall connection and taken to any other location for use.

[0013] Prior art does not support a full sized work table/bench that compares with the versatility of the presented embodiment

[0014] Prior art shows no capability of supplying a full sized working surface.

[0015] a.) U.S. Pat. No. 6,039,416 instructs a space saver, pivotal work bench assembly comprising a fixed tool storage housing mounted on a wall, and a pivotal work bench having pivotal and lockable legs. In a preferred embodiment, cooperative latching members are provided between the tool storage housing and pivotal work bench to temporarily secure the assembly to the wall.

[0016] b.) U.S. Pat. No. 5,829,501, relates to a complete workstation comprising a workbench and worktable. A facility is for supporting worktable upon the workbench so that a person can utilize the workbench and the worktable simultaneously.

[0017] c.) U.S. Pat. No. 4,856,435, is directed a stowable workbench adapted to be mounted on a tool box having a flat work surface movable between a working position in which it extends laterally from the work bench and a stowage position in which it extends perpendicular to the workbench.

[0018] d.) U.S. Pat. No. 4,527,605 teaches a bench having a horizontal working surface and a fence at the rear edge which defines a straight edge. The fence include a forwardley extended ledge which overhangs the rear portion of the working surface. The working surface can be raised and lowered/so that a work piece on the working surface can be releasably clamped between the ledge and the working surface. A bridged is secured to the fence and includes guide rails extending forwardly accurately perpendicular to the fence to guide a guide on which can be mounted a power tool such as a router, e.g. to form an accurate edge on the work piece.

[0019] e.) U.S. Pat. No. 4,313,385, relates to a folding table pivotally mounted to a vertical support by a pair of longer arms and two pairs of shorter arms Os that it can swing from a horizontal position to a vertical position against the support. A ground engaging leg of adjustable length is hinged to the outer end of the table and can be swung up under the table when the table 9 is to folded away. The shorter arms lie lengthwise in channel brackets when the table is extended, thereby giving the table better lateral support. Adjustable stops engage the underside of the table when extended.

[0020] f.) U.S. Pat. No. 4,155,609, teaches a wall-hung cabinet comprising a body portion fixedly attached to a wall. A door is hingedly mounted to said body portion and equipped to independently store items therein. A foldable work bench extends from the bottom body portion of the cabinet . In one embodiment the bottom of the cabinet is at approximately table height. In another embodiment the cabinet extends practically to the floor. The top of the cabinet is approximately no higher than the average person. Thus the wall-hung cabinet provides an ideal and compact unit for storing making use of craft and hobby tools and apparatus.

[0021] g.) U.S. Des. 263,533, is a design patent illustrating a foldaway workshop.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
