McDowell heel guard

Abstract

The McDowell Heel Guard is a device that is designed to cover the back outer heel area of a shoe, a portian of the side heel areas of a shoe, being the the actual material and the actual heel of the shoe. This device will fit firmly around the conture of the outer back heel of the shoe and portians of the side of the shoe.

Description

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The claimed “McDOWELL HEEL GUARD”, was created to help prevent wear and tear to the back outer area of the actual material of the shoe, and the back heel of a shoe, caused by constant irritation from rough, harsh, and abrasive surfices.

[0002] Such constant irritations, such as a drivers foot constantly moving back and forth from normal operations of a vehicle, or proping up of a foot on or against harsh, rough, and abrasive surfices, can cause considerable and costly damage to the back area of shoes and damage that may not be repairable in some cases.

[0003] Shoes that consist of Silk, Suade, Linen, and/or Exotic Skins and Satin, [can not] be repaired once they have been damaged past their original textures. The McDOWELL HEEL GUARD was designed to help prevent such unsightly or irripairable damage.

[0004] Depending on the geographical location one may live in, some natural material such as sand, black/dark soil, brown soil, and/or red soil, can serverely damage and/or stain the material of a shoe and in most cases, such material such as oil, wet/moist surfices, certain chemicals we contract from daily walking may become traped in our carpets of our vehicles, homes, and offices. Over a short or long period of time, depending on the harshness of the material, and or the material traped in the carpet, or the type of surfice causing the damage when we are walking, we tend to rest our feet on the back ball of the heel, more than 50% of the time we are not walking. The other 50% of the time consist of resting our feet on their sides, proped up on top of each other, or proped up on top of a surfice of some sort.

[0005] Being that so much preasure is placed on the heel area of a shoe unconsciously from repetitious use while in a vehicle, wear and tear become quickly noticeable on 4 sections of the heel area of the shoes, as pointed out below.

[0006] 1. The outer right, back area of the right shoe, due to back and forth repetitiously resting and draging of the foot, back and forth from the pedals, damaging the material of the shoe and the side of the heel of the shoe as well.

The ball of the outer back heel area's of both the right and left shoe (actual material), because that is the area mostly damaged due to the wieght resting directly on the ball of the heel of the feet. Such damage is caused by a driver useing his/her feet in pivoting motions, in solid hard strokes against the carpet, causeing whatever is traped inside the carpet

[0008] Such damage to this stated area of the shoe, can bruise, cut, cause discoloration, and/or ruin the material to the point that the material on the shoe can not be repaired or replaced without total reconstruction.

[0009] 3. The actual right side of the heel on the right shoe, and the actual left side of the heel on the left shoe becomes scared and discolored from constant irritation caused by traped material in the carpet.

[0010] 4. The actual back heel areas of both the right and left shoe, caused by constant pivoting, repetitious motions on harsh or rough surfices.

[0011] * Though a heel on a shoe can be replaced, The McDowell Heel Guard can save shoe owners hundreds of dollars, help preserve their most sensitive shoes from irrepairable damage, and protect them for the long haul.

[0013] Is a left side elevational view of the McDowell Heel Guard, designed to fit around the ball of the outer-back heel area of a mens dress shoe, or a boot, and/or a womens loafer or boot. Also, the device will help protect and cover a portion of both the left back area of the shoe as well.

[0014] As illestrated, the left side of the claimed McDowell Heel Guard, covers the back left portion of the actual material of the shoe that fits around the ball of the heel of a persons foot.

It is also designed to cover the back heel (actual heel of the shoe) of a shoe.

[0022] As illestrated, the back side of the claimed McDowell Heel Guard covers the back portion of the heel area of a shoe and added for a slight more protection, the three sections seen horizontally on this illestration, are extended portions of the device, acting as small bumper guards that are 1″ inch in length and {fraction (1/16)}″ of an inch wide, and are designed for extra protection.

[0027] In FIGS. “1, 2, and 4, the petitioner shows or has tried to indicate a “slit”, (meaning a slight opening) on the device, to indicate the opening where the rubberband will be coming out of the device. To assist the investigating officer, the petitioner has provided a copy of the claimed McDowell Heel Guard showing a view with the rubberband in it, and the petitioner is not adding the drawings with the rubberband to his claiming descriptions. The petitioner is only pointing out and idetifying what a “slit” is on the device.

[0028] The drawings provided to show the purpose of the “slit”, will be marked as titled, “Drawings not claiming——Identifying slit only” at the heading.

[0029] The claimed “McDowell Heel Guard”, will be made of a soft plastic or silicone device that is designed to fit around the back ball of the heel area of a shoe (actual material of the shoe) that has a heel attached.

[0030] The device will fit firmly to the back contour of the heel of a shoe, with the assistance from a rubberband, molded into the device.

[0031] The claimed McDowell Heel Guard device will be no thicker than ¼″ of an inch, and not less than {fraction (1/16)}″ of an inch thick.

[0032] The claimed Inventor/Petitioner, withholds the right to describe the rubberband, because the petitioner is not claiming inventors status on the rubberband.

[0033] The claimed Inventor/Petitioner, Johnny Allen McDowell, can not destinguish his invention from others or from other old inventions already existing, because McDowell knows of such resembled invention, nor can McDowell claim an improvement to other or a simular product.

Claims

1. A device that will be made of a soft plastic or silicone, and has been designed to cover the back portion of the outer-heel area of a shoe (actual material of a shoe), and cover the back portion of the actual heel, as well as the left and right back portion of the heel area of a shoe:

This device will help prevent damage from accuring on the backs of shoes (actual material of a shoe), due to constant irritation from rough, harsh, and abrasive surfices. The device will act as a protective shield.

The McDowell Heel Guard is designed to fit mens dress shoes or boots, and/or womens loafers or boots that have enclosed back heel areas.

The claimed McDowell Heel Guard is not designed or created for shoes that do not have heels or slip-ons like a sandle type shoe or slip-ons type shoes that do not have inclosed backs on the heel area.
